  1. ink / damper problem

pull the body apart around where the ink cartridges go until you can get access to the valves behind the cartridges. With the machine off, tape each valve "in" to open each valve, and then open your damper. Gravity will feed your damper full. Remove the tape, put your dampers back in the head...
  2. Gloss or matte, what's your standard?

matte on everything except vehicle stuff. I'd prefer it there too, but folks want shiny cars.
  3. Mimaki JV33...I haven't got a clue, Please HELP!!

if you've already filled with es3, you will have to flush and refill with ss21. We ran es3 inks for about a year and a half, and they were terrible. No bite, banners would scratch on the production table, and good luck finding any profiles to work with them if you are using rasterlink. But...
  4. Mimaki JV33...I haven't got a clue, Please HELP!!

dont worry about the other cartridges saying they are empty, it only draws from 4 cartridges at one time (especially if the red lights arent on above the second cartridge for each color) ditch the es3 inks and get ss21, trust me. I suggest calling your local supplier and see if their tech...
  5. Concrete graphics.

I am actually considering using IJ480 and just printing it with my solvent printer. It's either that or the Mactac roughrap. I've had my hands on the 480, and it's really easy to work with, never used the mactac. If I had a vendor who sold the Arlon around here that i had net 30 with I might...
  6. Which Laminator to get??

I have the rs-1401C GREAT machine. Also takes up little space. Best purchase I ever made after dealing with my daige for almost two years.
  7. can't find crop marks

I could be off here, but make sure your print is square. Is it not finding the first mark for origin or does it look for all four and fail? (I've got a Mimaki so it might do things differently) - I run into this problem from time to time on larger prints to diecut. By process of elimination, i...
  8. Concrete graphics.

I am pretty sure I am going the mactac route. It's a brand new stadium, and I would prefer not to drill any holes in the concrete for their banner. I actually come out ahead on the vinyl vs banner thing, and think its a better looking job. We used banners in their old stadium, and it worked...
  9. Concrete graphics.

Am covering some dugout tops with vinyl for our local baseball team. They want to be able to walk on it during 7th inning stretch and during contests, but it wont get a lot of traffic otherwise. Obviously it needs to last 6 months for a baseball season. The surface is concrete. I have been...
  10. !!!!!!! After Market Inks?????

I used 20/20 for a few months, and had a problem with a yellow channel. I am back on oem inks, and not looking back. How much do you save a s/f? Is it worth spending $3000 for a new print head?
  11. JV-33 CLONE machine with yellow issues

Funny, my JV33 just had a serious problem with one yellow channel on the head, it was completely blocked. It's taken 2 weeks to get most of it back, we were running 20/20 inks, have since switched back to oem.
  12. advice

Nice Jill :) I love how you seem to get things in the right place on your designs.
  13. mimaki jv33 flush vs. mild solvent

They aren't the same. The bottle that comes with a mimaki cleaning kit is a little stronger than the cartridge in the back. I had no idea, and was using washing cartridges exclusively for about the last 9 months, then all of the yellow nozzles clogged (ALL OF IT) on one side. I tried...
  14. advice

Actually, it fits the demographic you are looking to get just fine. People who go to the track, want you to wrap their atv/mx bike will like it, and that's what you want. Down here in Alabama if you took that to Talladega, you would have them all over ya.
  15. EFF YOU RASTERLINK! Stops working after 3 years says not registered

121a that's what happened here. Once the power supply on the pc overheated, and it shut off while rasterlink was running, and then two days later the freaking battery backup died and did the same thing. Nice to know your software shells everytime the power goes out.
  16. Where to buy banner sewing machine?

We have a double needle chainstitch Singer 300w. I'd say it's the second worst purchase we ever made (right after the daige laminator) Actually, maybe it's worse. At least we got by with the daige. We bought ours refurbished and it has broken down at least 10 times requiring someone to...
  17. EFF YOU RASTERLINK! Stops working after 3 years says not registered

Something is screwy around here, that's for sure. Two battery backups died this morning. I think I've got a Gremlin.
  18. EFF YOU RASTERLINK! Stops working after 3 years says not registered

clean windows install fixed the problem. Looks like the fan on the power supply has gone bad too. What next? I vhb taped a small fan to the back of the computer to keep it going until tomorrow. LOL.
  19. EFF YOU RASTERLINK! Stops working after 3 years says not registered

something weird is going on, it wont uninstall the rasterlink web service in order to reinstall the software. It's all apparently tied to this part of the software, this is what they use to validate your copy with I guess. About to reinstall a clean version of windows and start over i guess.
