We are actually building something like this right now to store larger odds and ends rolls from past jobs. Thanks to this forum for the idea, looks like its going to work great for us. :thumb:
We have used 651 for dealers around here. Usually we supply them and the body shop guys install them.
We have also done yellow magnet for them also. Both ways work fine.
+1 for justin pate, ive seen him at a few of the trade shows, he is very good and easy to follow.
Check out his website "the wrap institute" he has a ton of great videos.
I know someone who took one of the avery wrap cert. classes and got a wealth of knowledge out of it. :thumb:
In the same boat as you, recently had a lady who hated her fleet graphics. I asked her if she had any ideas and she didn't, just said to come up with something unique and different from what she had.
A few proofs later she didn't understand why we couldn't come up with something she liked... Her...
This is the 2nd time in just as many days what the font (and my own knowledge) have stumped me on a font.
Appreciate any help you guys(and gals) can give.
Any help anyone can be would be great. Customer could only get me a low res JPG and of course its a rush. What the font was no help.
If anyone knows this one or something close that would be awesome :thumb:
we bought a cet q5-250h hybrid flatbed (which is being installed today) and a Fletcher substrate cutter...
I'm calling these my Christmas bonus while the owner calls them a tax write-off... its win win for both of us... :thumb:
We just got our Fletcher after years of me pushing for one... i hate the plastic "dust" from the panel saw.
We finally got the fletcher and i use the hell out of it.
Im ganna go out on a limb and say the car was white since the roof is still white along with the mirror caps.
Honestly there is no way for us to tell you how much to charge for this job.
Over head, design hours, install hours, shop rate, it all has a part in how this would be quoted.
I think...
Cut registration marks for both colors when cutting the graphics, apply transfer tape to top color only, cut out reg. marks from transfer tape, align graphics, apply top color to lower color, remove registration marks from bottom color.
If its not a special shape or odd ball size we wouldnt re-use the board. Cost of a new board vs. labor costs to remove old vinyl it doesnt make sense. We sway our customers towards just getting a new board. :thumb:
Otherwise its a per hour cost @ shop rate and i tell them i will charge them...
same here, we go to indy every year and every year its less and less. Its a 6 hour drive 1 way for us and last year we walked around for 2 hours and took off.
If you are going to buy equipment and get good deals you can find some. If you are going for the classes i think those look like a good...
I print an 8.5x11 off our copier of a section of their art to scale and show them how rough it will look. I then print out a vector logo, show them the difference and explain we can re-create it for them for $XXX and we will give them the file to hold onto for the future.
We often end up...
We have a customer who dye sub them on a mousepad material.
We have recently looked at direct UV printing them but they didnt like the color vs. the Dye Sub.
