  1. Uninstall help

Are you sure the bridge process isn't running? It starts up when windows launches by default. Don't really need to go into safe mode, just need to make sure the process is killed.
  2. HP Design Jet L25500 Opinions?

Can't tell, too busy crawling away from the machine after passing out
  3. Wordpress vs Joomla?

The conclusions are dumb though and self-selecting. Saying to use Drupal for complex sites where you're going to have a heavy engineering team to work on it is a pointless thing to say as you need a heavy engineering team to make Drupal do anything useful. And you should STILL use WordPress in...
  4. Printing 7.5M books a week and can't make it

HP and Oce are both dominating the inkjet on demand printing markets, the new Oce's can do 200 meters a minute. Printing is hardly dead, just more streamlined. Embrace tech and automation or die off. Come up to Wisconsin and tour Quad Graphics sometime.
  5. New Business Card/Logo

I didn't know DC Comics got into window tinting
  6. calling all spider experts

Move her if you have to, let her live. That's thousands of nuisance assassins right there, very useful. Way better than the nasty bugs those spiders will eliminate for you.

Hold on let me fire up the DeLorean. Crap, got any plutonium?
  8. HP Design Jet L25500 Opinions?

We have yet to perfectly nail down translucent on the HP. There's an Oracal 3850SG profile that is decent, 3M doesn't provide one for their translucent yet which is a problem as several clients require it. So far we're just using the Oracal profile with the 3M trans when required as we haven't...
  9. In the market for a new cell phone

Turn off wifi, bluetooth, gps when you aren't using them. Lower your screen brightness settings (screens suck tons of juice). If you want to get fancy you can root and install a cpu clocker and set up triggers to change the cpu depending on what you're doing, but that's above most people.
  10. HP 60" Latex Printer & Choosing Software for PC

Onyx 10.1 is working wonderfully with our L25500, no complaints. Runs great, the .1 update to 10.0 fixed the L25500 issues and put in place another improvement to the PDF engine if you like PDF workflows (which I do). Avoid Flexi, the choice is Onyx or Caldera. Flexi is junk.
  11. HP L25500 Printing

Some shops, large offset places in particular, will define black as 100/100/100/100 in the prepress files and let the RIP's K limiter (GCR usually, UCR sometimes) adjust down to the materials maximum ink saturation. Easy to do in Onyx (if you've figured out maximum ink saturation for the media)...
  12. HP L25500 Temperature Settings

Oracal profiles have been fine for us though it does warp cheap lining paper slightly (3640, etc...). Haven't had time to pause and mess with backing it off to a lower temp while maintaining ink curing. Too busy. :) Intellimagic Pos Pro + 200 works great if you're looking for a no-curl...
  13. Open InDesign file in Illustrator?

Though it's kind of clueless to try to open an .indd in Illustrator ;). Do you not have InDesign?
  14. Wordpress vs Joomla?

Choice of theme depends on intend of site. Stay away from themes using Cufon or that use custom backends or aren't well supported (make sure it's a theme made by a big, reputable theme company with a record of excellent support). Make sure the theme is 3.0 ready.
  15. Fonts not to use?

Design school, experience, typography literature (magazines, blogs, forums...). As Rick says, developing your eye is extremely important. Takes a decade or so. Always be learning. A background in some art history helps as well, knowing how typefaces are used appropriately is largely a matter of...
  16. Server

There's seriously no reason to run an ftp anymore in the age of cheap cloud storage and ftp-like SaaS applications.
  17. RC Car Body Wrap

It's a little dark, fun project though.
  18. New Logo

Not really a logo, just a graphic. Start over -- you should sketch 20+ different logo ideas before you even look at the computer. Do you have experience creating logos? It's the most important part of your business identity--if you're not a pro at it, hire someone who is. It's not something to...
  19. Switches and Network Architecture

As a side note you can find good procurves lightly used all the time from businesses liquidating their assets. Good iron is cheap the last few years because of this.
  20. Attention HP l25500 owners!

The thing is it's not really a first generation printer. It's an old aqueous body that was stuffed with latex printer guts from larger machines (L65500 and the ginormous high speed production scitex machines). Anyone who couldn't guess that there's a new version coming in the next year...
