  2. USB long length connection

I had the same problem, and there is a workaround. You have to get a powered USB hub, and connect two 12' USB cables with it. The hardest part you will have is finding the right cables and the right hub so it all fits together. I have experienced no issues running two usb cables this way, but...
  3. Worst sign I've seen in a while

    Hey! That's my sign! j/k :rock-n-roll:
  4. New Orleans or bust!

My wife and I are going in October for our anniversary. I had some friends who used to live there - but I only went once during Mardi Gras, and I hated it. She has promised me I will love it this time around. The parts I did like were.. Cafe DuMonde is a must - beignets right by the french...
  5. Ingrown Toenail

I used to have that problem too, but have found that if i keep them a little longer, and cut "square" they don't bother me as much. I do have one toenail that is split down the middle though, and it drives me nuts. How it happened, I don't know, I noticed it about a year ago, and it hasn't...
  6. Over or under....

I like my take up rolls to take up under (reverse wound) -- but my TP rolls over. Weird  Anyway, was curious is reverse winding made people nervous about dust pick up or if those of you who do them "over" did it that way because it's a pain to tape them to the core from the back. I like...
  7. anyone know roughly what ink costs per sq. ft.?

I figure mine at about $.50 a sq/ft -- it might actually only cost me 30 cents, but screw one thing up, and guess what, it costs 60.. and for some reason, it seems like every customer I get these days wants a 4x8 banner, with a black background, or dark navy blue with little white letters.. And...
  8. Best Value Printer for Wraps

What are you wrapping? I can't imagine wrapping a car using a 24" printer. Do you have a laminator? Gonna need one of those too.
  9. Artist or Not?

I aspire to be artistic, and sometimes I am really happy with the stuff I produce. Most of the time, being my own worst critic, I feel like the old cliche' about 1 million monkeys banging on a typewriter will produce Shakespeare... if I sit here and move stuff around long enough, something good...
  10. What was that trick in Acrobat?

nice! I didnt know about that one, always had to rasterize it at the final resolution in photoshop. I wonder why it will intrepret the fonts in placed files but not opened ones.
  11. What was that trick in Acrobat?

you can open it with photoshop and it will look fine.
  12. AHHHH...Need to rant about stupid customers!!!

Yep, everything that goes out the door has an approved proof. Learned that one the hard way.
  13. interesting clock!

This should be a good thread to keep an eye on. I wonder if the shale oil in Colorado and the tar/sand stuff in Canada are factored into the oil reserves?
  14. Decal vinyl

Call your local sign merchant, they should be able to sell you anything you need. Lots of options out there for you. If you aren't a sign company, they won't sell to you though.
  15. Calendared + Cast combinations?

Cast vinyl is poured to shape, calendared is stretched, so it will contract. If you cover a calendared vinyl with cast, it's supposed to be okay. If you cover a cast vinyl with a calendared laminate, it will shrink off of the print, or shrink and pull the print with it. I guess the theory is...
  16. Really getting pi$$ed off now.

well, if you put the two rollers right next to each other, and run it, you can see the bottom roller wobble, as the top stays stationary. then if you move them closer still, the bottom roller will come into contact with the top roller briefly, and then lose grip, and as the wobble comes back...
  17. Really getting pi$$ed off now.

it's a 54" solo. In my sleep last night, I figured out how to fix the unequal pressure problem people have with these... but it's got a wobble. I took a micrometer to the roller, and it's perfectly round, it just rises up and down when you turn it. So, we fix the wobble, and I am probably...
  18. Really getting pi$$ed off now.

All of my conversations with Ike have been pleasant - my interactions with his laminator thus far have not :) I am sure this will be resolved, but it's very trying. :peace!:
  19. Really getting pi$$ed off now.

My Daige laminator saga continues. long story short, it's never worked right, they did some trouble shooting with me over the phone and sent me a new bottom roller at a "discount" and the same problem still persists. Now they want me to take it apart again on my own time and dime and go over...
