  1. install issues

Did you buy the cutter used or from a vendor? First line of help is always the vendor. Common problem with this machine. Check in your Device Manager, under the PORT(COMM and LPT) settings, to see if you have Prolific USB to Serial (COMX) listed. If not, the cable is not configured, or...
  2. connect a Roland SP 540 V via usb?

The manual for the SP is the same for the 300 and 540. The 300 had USB and the 540 only has Ethernet.
  3. Anywhere to download (not update) Versaworks?

Usually a dealer can get you either a Full ISO or an "offline updater" Worst case, pay for the install disk... ask your dealer and they can order from Roland.
  4. Very Small Cut Letters Graphtec CE3000-60

Or use 3M 7725 with mylar backing... usually holds better than paper liners.

  7. I need help choosing plotter or help simplifying my process

What software do you have? This will make a big difference as well. I would think your next hurdle would be figuring out how to "die cut" your final job when combining one decal on top of a printed pattern. Do you have the artwork for both of these? Registration marks have to come into play...
  8. CJ-500 Encoder Error ???????

Would make more sense that you would be getting a motor error rather than encoder... odd. I would move on the the cut carriage cable and print carriage cable or board... both of these pass info from the cut and print assemblies to the main board. A break in communication might be causing this.
  9. FlexiSign ICC Profile for Roland SC-500

What version of Flexi? Even though the ink is different, I really did get decent results using the CJ-500 Pigment ink profiles with the eco-sol max inkset.
  10. Mild solvent and insomnia

Think I am in the same boat AUTO-FX. Fired up the coffee pot about 30 minutes ago.
  11. CJ-500 Encoder Error ???????

Does it set up the media correctly? Will it allow you to do cleaning cycle? Do you receive a specific error message when trying to do the DEMO print?
  12. Soaked Head, now no print? SP300V

You have to remove the back black cover to gain access to the mainboard. When checking the fuse with a Multi-meter, you MUST turn power off and unplug the power cable to the printer. Set your meter to measure OHMs and it should peg out when the leads touch each end of the fuse. If it does not...
  13. Roland SP-300 Pumping all ink out of black cartridge overnight.

Replace the cap top and both dampers on this head. Once replaced, recommend you check the capping position also... may be too high and pressing against the head, compressing the rubber seal too much allowing the captop sponge to contact the head. This can lead to a siphoning effect.
  14. Hello, Hello

Glad to have you aboard. Welcome
  15. Soaked Head, now no print? SP300V

Check the fuse on the mainboard.... sounds like one has popped. Did you pull the power cable out while you were removing and/or re-installing the printhead?
  16. OMG....just found out how much for a technician.

FYI, I just paid a plumber to fix an issue at my house and their hourly rate was $244.00. Plus a $30 dispatch fee and parts.
