  1. copyright

Just because an artwork is old doesn't mean the rights haven't been transfered. Old masters are generally fine but you have to be careful, many many foundations and family trusts legally own the rights to works from authors/artists long dead. We really don't want to go down this road though, as...
  2. Looking for DSLR

Loving my Canon T2i. Prefer Canon glass options and I like a smallish hand fit. I shoot mostly portraits and use a 50mm lens most often. Canon 420ex flash+omnibounce when the situation calls for it.

  5. 32-bit or 64-bit ?

It's not, there is no "enough".
  6. City Bus Wrap Vid

All that work just for white over white...I hope you weren't charging based on ink coverage! :ROFLMAO: Nice work, love to watch install vids.
  7. TRAILER WRAP for $475

Nothing inspires confidence like Comic Sans.
  8. Our new location in progress

I probably would have ran the green around the store from the floor up about 2' in a stripe, the rest blue--get the whole ground perception thing working for you and use the brand colors. It's a bit distracting as is but congrats on the new space, I hope it works well for you.

  10. 32-bit or 64-bit ?

:roflmao: If your hardware is 64bit and you're running any software that supports multithreading or you want to use more than 3.5GB of RAM, go 64bit. It's that simple. That should be most of us by now as all Adobe software is multithreaded and 3.5GB of RAM is never enough.
  11. CMYK and pantone colors displaying as rgb in coreldraw

Wish all our clients would use primary color mode--dealing with Corel exported EPS files is such a pain due to the mixed modes (and how it exports gradients but that's another story...). Flexi is even worse.
  12. Our new site went live today too.

SEO doesn't have to mean repetitive keywords--you'd benefit from really simple changes that are also just good, accessible html markup. Make sure your images have titles and alts, throw up a solid metadescription, tweak your robots, submit xml sitemaps, maybe put up a breadcrumb system to...
  13. Design opinions

The kerning is terrible and and it looks like your strokes are set to centered instead of outside which thins/destroys the letterforms.
  14. Need HELP!!!! Rasterlink and parallel port

Replace the firewire board. I haven't seen a parallel port used in ages and it would be extremely slow to print to, the data throughput on parallel is tiny (2-4MB/s). Firewire is 480MB/s or faster with the newer specs.
  15. eBook started

I read ebooks on my Droid X all day long and the Tab is quite good. iPad 2 is due out in a couple months and CES is going to be drowning in medium-screen size mobile platforms. Seth Godin is a good example of a hugely successful author that now does ebooks almost exclusively but it's even...
  16. ConvexVinyl.com Redesign

Not that tough, Veer, Corbis, & Getty exist for a reason..better yet, find a local photographer you can contract with and direct the shoots yourself. :) I'm also amazed at how many businesses that rely on graphics to sell their visual products don't have good cameras in house to shoot completed...
  17. Why is Business Writing So Awful?

Jason Fried is always worth reading, his company (37signals) blog is a must-add to your RSS reader. Had another good but short article in Inc. this month about why 37signals charges $10 for a simple ios app. Short moral: chase profit, not customers.
  18. eBook started

Go with the ebook, many of the biggest business writers are completely giving up physical books, even print on demand, in favor of them. InDesign is the software to use for any book layout work (great for setting type). If the ebook takes off you can always release it in physical form later...
  19. Wrap Portfolio

Enroll in some design courses if you're serious (expect to be decent in ~4-5 years if you work hard and have an eye) and if you're not find someone you can trust to outsource design to. It's not a bad thing to use specialists for specialist tasks. Your second post shows marked improvement but as...
  20. JV33 & Printing on Clear Vinyl

Lack of written information is endemic in this industry, get used to figuring stuff out on your own. Even the "top-end" rip systems have poor user manuals at best.
