Yeah I just set it to 6pass if I'm really in a rush, can't imagine needing it to go much faster than that but thats just me.
I thought the reason might have had to do with the nozzles.
Sounds like my role. I was hired with no experience in the sign business and learned everything within the first year and would say I'm a strong employee now. I have a BFA in digital illustration and I used to work in a woodshop so I already knew how to take measurements and use some tools...
I did a big wrap in Photoshop at 1/4 scale 300dpi, saved each panel separately and blew it up to full scale in Onyx. I can't remember if I saved it as a TIFF or a PDF, but it would have been one or the other. The resolution wasn't perfect on the print but it worked and looked nice.
*I did not...
I feel pretty good about the spider idea, but with a tweak. I have some clear vinyl and I'm gonna print some realistic spiders with a shadow and plant them around the offices.
That takes care of the office workers but I still need something for the guys in the shop/on the road. I don't feel...
I have an extra 5' long decal made that is red, blue and gold that reads "LOVE MACHINE" that I've been holding on to for a potential prank. Will my boss fire me if I apply it to his tailgate?
Thats more or less what I look like on the average work day already! I do like that though. Maybe I could slap some vinyl on someone else, kick-me-note style.
On a side note, I sometimes contemplate what would make good armor in a zombie apocalypse and multiple layers of vinyl seem bite proof...
I work in the vinyl department and I have a lot of scraps I need to get rid of, thought maybe I could use them for some pranks of some sort. I need some ideas though. My intended targets are my bosses, the road/shop guys and the graphic designers. Any input appreciated, doesn't have to be with...
We use IJ180 for wall installations all the time. 6,000 sq ft is a lot of space to cover but I use a rivet brush to push down the vinyl since you can't post heat. I have also skipped this step and the vinyl has staid put just fine.
I second this, since the felt is soft it will push the vinyl down into uneven surfaces. I usually spray some water on the felt as well to make it glide easily. I also find that the orafol squeegees have a bit more bend to them than the 3m brand ones, might not be preferable to everyone but it's...
I prefer the xacto method (print facing up though) but I use a sanding block when its on a soft material or if it was a wet apply. Seems like something you could do successfully a number of ways
Try wiping down the inside of the printer, you could be picking up dust as it prints. If you clean it will remove the dust from the head but then it will build back up if it's dirty in there, which would explain the random nozzle spots. Make sure the material isnt dirty as well.
