  1. looking at HP DesignJet 130nr

To my knowledge, HP doesn't make anything that can cut vinyl. You may have read an ad that referred to this machine as a plotter. "Plotter" is a generic term that can mean "printer" or "vinyl cutter". HP makes printers. If the ad mentioned a cutter, it most likely meant that the printer has a...
  2. Contour offset too large

The C works, but the MS doesn't....so apparently the graphic is in 2 pieces that you are applying contours to separately. Try this...select all and go to arrange/combine...then try to apply your contour. May not work, but worth a try.
  3. Recognize these fonts please???

Newstand is Freehand 575, with a different s thrown in. Not sure on the J&J.
  4. Do you have a DVD drive on your design computer.

All my computers can read a DVD. The newest one has a burner, as well.
  5. Corel Affect

I believe this is just an effect, as was stated...it only makes a graphic look as if it were embroidered. To do actual embroidery requires digitizing software. Your graphic must be turned into stitches for a machine to sew. Most digitizing software that I have looked at is pretty expensive.
  6. Where can I find a Martini Glass and other bar items?

I see from your profile you have CorelDraw 10. I don't have the 10 clipart cd in front of me just now, but I believe it has some beverage related clipart on it. It is in color and is designed for printing, but with a little creative welding, it can be modified for vinyl cutting.
  7. Help in Corel 12

Go to tools/options at the top of the screen. When the options box opens up, go to workspace/customization/command bars...put a checkmark beside "Transform". The box you want will probably pop up on the screen floating...just drag it up to the command bar at the top of the screen and put it...
  8. Kinda a newbie

I decaled a couple of quarter-scale boats for a guy a few months back.
  9. Kinda a newbie

Welcome DRP. Glad to have you. Hey, Doc, I've still got one of those late 80's RC10's, too. I've got several other vehicles, but my most current one is the Associated Monster GT. We had a group of guys racing for fun until Katrina hit...a lot of them work plumbing and construction...they're...
  10. Corel Draw 12 Problems

Some suggestions I made a few weeks ago in another thread.
  11. problem with typing a font in corel12

Type your text and pick the font you want. With the text selected, go to the top of the screen and click on "text" ...a drop-down will appear. In the drop-down click on "format text" ...when the box opens up click on the paragraph tab. There will be several boxes with % symbols...you want the...
  12. Stripper/Pinup Girl - Silhouette

Look on some of the free font sites for sexy fonts. Lots of silhouette girls there.
  13. Looking for Skyhook Logo (Vectored)...

The logo in question is not much of a logo anyway. If I remember correctly, it is three horizontal stripes...red, white, and blue with the word Skyhook in black all caps written across it in some simple font like Arial Black. If I had an old one to look at I could re-do it on screen in 5...
  14. HP designjet 5500 60" printer

I have been hand laminating...sometimes with pressure sensitive film laminate and sometimes with Clearjet. I simply don't have room in my current shop for a laminating machine. The big squeegee is looking like a good investment...everyone who has one raves about it. I've just got to decide what...
  15. Another font ID, please.

That's what I was thinking...if the font mattered they would all be Helvetica. Wonder if they do a lot of renaming in the Bermuda Triangle?
  16. HP designjet 5500 60" printer

I have the 42" version with uv inks. I've had no major trouble with mine. It's very user friendly and almost maintenance-free. You can print with it every day or you can let it sit for weeks and the prints look just as good either way...no problems with dried ink clogging things up. I would love...
  17. Roland is My Baby!!!

I knew you'd come around to our way of thinking. Heheheh.
  18. Graduated Vinyl

Select your text and go to effects/contour. When the design central-outline box opens, select outline in the dropdown. Set the width to however big you want, offset to zero, copies to 1, and miter limit changes how sharp or round the corners are. Make sure the outline is a different color from...
  19. Graduated Vinyl

It's not just the gradual changing of colors in your design...the entire roll of vinyl is one color at the top edge and gradually fades to another color at the bottom edge. You have to position your design just so on the vinyl to get the best effect. You can use your software to position the...
  20. Importing non-vector images to cut in Corel

Select the bitmap and under the bitmaps dropdown go to mode/1-bit black and white. There will be a slider and a preview...adjust till it looks best and tell it OK. Then with bitmap still selected, go to bitmaps/trace bitmap. This will open Coreltrace. Your bitmap will be on the left screen with...
