This isn't going to help but I went through the same problems with a VS-640 too. Got it Ordway Sign Supply refurbished; it made one print then quit printing. Spent several months and about $5000 on parts before I finally just threw it away. The issue was I would replace a main part (head...
I've had problems where my blacks weren't real black if they were a CMYK black. But if the color was RGB black it worked fine. A custom profile fixed the issue so both appear rich but thought I'd chime in with my experience.
It could need adjusting but hard to know without being in service mode and seeing the reading. That will give you the truth about the issue. I have had to do this before as if it just gets slightly out of voltage it will read wrong and not work.
But you need to makes sure the eye is pretty...
Yeah, I have customers all the time want to either have a custom boat name or their HID numbers in that font and I have to tell them it isn't a font but a hand drawn logo. I wish some Baja fan boy would come up with one.
I am upfront with the customer about art cost. As others have said a lot of times the customer will find a vector or high resolution image once they realize it will cost them money to turn the low resolution into what we need. Other times you end up dealing with customers back and forth trying...
Years ago Flexi didn't support PNGs but normally they work fine for me these days (Flexi 19). Even transparencies normally work which can be a real time saver sometimes. But occasionally I have a hard time importing any files...even something like a PDF. Normally a restart of the software...
Left it for a few days while I was out of town and the squeak fixed itself. I manually pulled some more ink and seems to have fixed it so I guess there may have been a bubble in the cyan line.
This one has me confused. 8 color machine with white and silver not being used (cleaning cartridges in those slots). Today the cyan didn't print. Pulling ink with syringe or head cleaning will get it going. But if I try and print just a solid 100% cyan bar it starts dropping out immediately...
I know the 3164 will shrink after months or even years of sun exposure but within days or weeks has me concerned as this is my go to vinyl for cheap decals. No customers complaints from customers on my end yet so wondering if you got a bad or old roll. Is the art the same as before? Sometimes...
Years ago I bought a template online from a place that had a bunch for sale (supposed to be reputable). It was for a RZR which was my personal machine. Every piece of the template had to be modified to actually fit correctly (no kidding; every single one!) The basic shapes were there but...
I really am not "supplier loyal" as I've seen some pricing differences as much as $200 per roll. With that being said, I got a Fellers a few minutes from me I used to buy from weekly. But when they stopped giving discounts on 10 yard rolls it made ordering from someplace else much easier. And...
I don't have the same printer set up but for RI I have everything set to Relative Colorimetric except Bitmap which I have Perceptual. I think those are pretty common as being the "right" settings to start with. I run Pure Hue on Red, Gray and Yellow for best results on my machines. This was a...
Yes, sometimes you get lucky and still have the file open. I'll send the entire job again but "hold in list" instead of "send now". Then just send the cut job to the cutter. Maybe there is an easier way but that is how I do it if the job disappears before cutting (happens more often than I'd...
If you are wanting an overlay then really the only accurate way is to trace the emblem, scan it in, test fit and then make adjustments as necessary. This is tedious and time consuming but if you want it done right it is the only way. Even if you find someone selling "templates" 90% of the time...
I've tried a bunch and there are some good ones out there these days (compared to 10 years ago when I started looking). I can say stay away from INKXE. Their designer is nice but support is a joke (they may be a scam at this point). I bought a lifetime license but when the site broke I tried to...
I really don't see much difference from raw material or with glossy lamination. But the matte lamination caused a major change in the look. I don't think the OP is talking about actual "hologram" style decals but just the rainbow effect chrome which don't have any depth to the decals (which...
