I too just use the same glossy laminate that we use on our wrap material. I did do a large custom holographic decal for a customer that wanted matte finish and I was not too happy with the results as it took almost all the holographic effect from the decal. Though I guess the customer didn't...
Not sure if anyone remembers this brand (now defunct) but wondering if anyone recognizes the fonts. "one" is pretty generic but TURN is a little more unique. Customer is replicating an old racing motorcycle and they need this logo. I am not able to find any vectors of it since I think they...
I used to have this problem often but since I got a good profile going I can't remember the the last time I seen it. A fix for now (assuming this is a vector gradient) is you can create a rectangle and then fill it with the gradient then rasterize it. Then create a mask using the letters. For...
I have an SP-300V (slightly newer model) that I have been printing with for well over 10 years. And I bought it used. These things are workhorses but the only issue now is parts are getting harder to find since they are so old. Main parts like consumables and even heads are still available...
So I now have reprofiled my VSi 5 different times now and the red still is not as deep as on my SP. What is odd is my color charts still look identical using a CMYK profile compared to a CMYKlclm profile. I've tried various dither types and none seem to make a difference (at least for the...
Literally from a customer this week:
Customer: Draw me up several options and I'll choose one
Me: We will have to charge a fee to redraw your images (he sent a bunch of low quality images/ideas)
Customer: You guys are a joke and I'm leaving you a bad review on Google since you sell custom decals...
The way I look at it (if the numbers support it) charge double what you normally charge. You may lose half the jobs but you are getting the same amount of money for half the work and material. Sounds crazy but this has worked for me for the last 20 years; by charging what is worth my time vs...
If you don't need anything complicated it will just be quick and easy to build it yourself. They make it these days where anyone can build a nice looking website just by pointing and clicking. Wix or Squarespace are good places to start. But if you need something complex then a web expert may...
I literally was just wondering the same thing a few minutes ago as I hate when a customer specifies a Pantone number and I essentially have to scroll through every one to see if the number shows up. "There has got to be a better way!" I thought. Then this subject shows up in my email from...
The Panther was awesome! Was disappointed when it stopped working as it was no longer available so replaced it with that Roland that was junk compared to it.
I don't have experience with that one but have bought many SW plotters over the years and only one disappointed. Though even with that one, I bought an identical one and kept the other one for a spare or parts as the replacement was fine. Started my business with one of cheapies 20 years ago...
They fix one thing to break another. I emailed SAi about these issues and of coarse they don't respond. The only response they ever have for me is: "We can't replicate the issue. You aren't using the latest build. Do an update and that will fix the issue". Of coarse it never does.
This is a new one to me. Maybe upload the file here (zip) and someone can spot the issue or may be able to correct it as it could be a problem with your specific build.
I didn't really want to upgrade due to the horror stories but was kinda forced to upgrade to the latest version which I have been using for about 9 months now. My only two consistent problems I deal with are:
Gradient patterns don't always seem to scale correctly with the object (even if you...
Ha! I can see how that would be confusing not being able to hear the sound (but that's not the issue for me). I just realized I'm the idiot that didn't realize I have a guide in the luggage (Eye1). I can see that using that guide is going to make my job a LOT easier. Sometimes it's just...
