Careful using thin pvc or styrene with any dark backgrounds. If the sign is exposed to direct sunlight, the heat can and will warp on you. you would be better off with aluminum or ACP as your substrate.

PL Construction adhesive is what I use a lot of. It doesn't expand as much as monkey glue. I wouldn't use VHB because HDU is porous and it wont make good enough contact unless you want to also come through the back with screws. That's for insurance.

Perhaps that is true in Auckland, but not here in the U.S. Copyright infringement is considered even if there is a resemblance. If you artwork is a derivative of the original and can be recognized as such, you are in violation. The old 10% change rule is a myth.
