  1. Matt Lamination

If you absolutely have to laminate it, use a liquid laminate. Marabu makes matte laminate that's easy to hand roll if you don't have a liquid laminator.
  2. Feeling Thankful

Whoa! Glad you're alright. Sounds like you were driving the right vehicle. I got hurt way worse in a fender bender once while driving a BMW.
  3. Lamination Issues

Get an anti-static kit for your laminator and then use tack cloth. It's boring standing there wiping down a 150' roll of printed material as it goes through the laminator, but it works.
  4. Lamination Issues

Having someone standing there wiping with a tack cloth as the print goes through works. Or standing there with a piece of tape wound inside out around your fingers (so the tacky side is out). Any number of dust removal systems (roller and tack pad). You're never going to be able to get rid of...
  5. Weird install

It's not, unfortunately, an optical illusion in this case. The line is curving. You have to compensate when doing the layout of the design. Check out videos of people painting straight lines on corrugated metal and you'll get an idea of what's happening. It's the same concept as drawing a...
  6. Need Help Getting ‘ghosted’ prints

You won't void your warranty by running alignment tests. Just don't fiddle with it mechanically and you should be good!
  7. Need Help Getting ‘ghosted’ prints

Agreed. Definitely looks like an alignment issue. Nozzle test won't tell you anything about your alignment, run your alignment tests and you'll probably see the issue.
  8. what is this

It's not the head height adjustment, is it? On our Mutoh it's an orange lever, so I'm not sure if it's the same on all models.
  9. Need Help Floor graphic calamity

Dollars to donuts it's terrazzo. That stuff is ubiquitous in schools.
  10. Need Help Floor graphic calamity

I don't know much about the stone floor protector, but I imagine there's a reason they're using it? 3M states it's for porous stone surfaces, so maybe normal wax won't work? I'm gonna go with GaSouthpaw, if you can get them to switch to normal wax, that might be your best bet.
  11. Need Help Floor graphic calamity

Gino, why are you always trying to stir the pot? I asked a question, because I figured either you misunderstood the OP or you gleaned some information out of it that I didn't. Instead, you instantly go to the personal insults. In any case, if anybody here has problems with reading comprehension...
  12. Need Help Floor graphic calamity

Yikes! Bummer, dude. Did 3M have any suggestions for you? Personally, I'd try an edge sealer first. 3M even makes a liquid edge sealer, but I'm not sure how it would react with the stone protector or the floor graphic. What happens if you put the stone protector over the graphics? Where did...
  13. Gravograph Laser at SGIA

We're looking at one of these right now with a brailler. You guys still liking yours?
  14. Suggestions Laser Cutting Foam

Burning PVC releases toxic gasses, like chlorine. Not only potentially damaging to your equipment, but also to operators (or bystanders).
  15. Opinion Boss Laser

Anybody familiar with Boss Laser? We're looking at a new laser and they're well within our budget, but I'm not very familiar with them. They're not going to be at SGIA 2017 or ISA 2018, even though they're based out of Florida. If anyone has used or owns a Boss Laser, I'd be curious to hear...
  16. What Would Be Your Next Flatbed?

I'm not 100% sure, to be honest. I will say that I've been impressed with every Durst machine I've ever seen. I would imagine they probably hold their value fairly well as long as they've been maintained. Someone else might have some better insight into your question than I do, though.
  17. Cutting ACM... the right way, the cleanest way...

Guillotines and shears are nice in my experience. They leave a really nice edge that doesn't require any finishing. Track saws and panel saws are a close second. Especially if you have a nice one. Minimal edge finishing if you have an appropriate blade for your saw. More versatility from track...
  18. So, this guys name is Clint.

I see what you did there.
  19. So, this guys name is Clint.

A friend of mine posted this font fail the other day.
  20. Digital UV print

Gotcha. I've never used it at all, never worked around offset printers. Was just curious. Thanks!
