  1. Mosh needs Help! In more ways than one....

Another vote from me for high-quality acrylic, preferably Porter if you can get it in your neighborhood. It's proven itself to us over and over, signs 10+ years old still look almost new. For primer, I really like Sign-Prime from Sign Arts Products (they make SignFoam). It'll probably take two...
  2. Recent simple free standing sign

    Very nice!
  3. Any ideas?

    Monotype Corsiva?
  4. Quickie Banner Layout

I like everything but the drop shadow on the $13, it's going the opposite direction of the Just Cuts shadow and to me it's distracting. Otherwise nice work!
  5. Hi from Cincinnati

    Welcome from Dayton Jay!
  6. Bumper Stickers

Give them the option but I doubt they'll want to pay for it. And don't use 3165. Bumper stickers, especially political ones, should be on something with a removable adhesive. I recommend General Formulations Concept 204, Orajet has some comparable products. It'll stay put for years but will...
  7. How do you store your scraps...

Scraps are a pain. We store a few usable scraps of most materials but try to make a conscious effort to trash as much as possible so they don't clutter up the shop. We just store them on shelves under work tables.
  8. Eco Solvent Printing on 651 oracal

+1. But to answer your question, yes, you can print on 651, the only difference between it and 3651 is 3651 has gray adhesive and is manufactured in a cleaner environment to prevent surface contamination. So printing on regular 651 may work fine, but I'd recommend cleaning the surface with...
  9. Anyway out of jury duty due to our business?

I'm with Fred, the "civic duty" line is BS. There are more than enough people out of work or on government support they can and should be calling on to do this, they need to leave people that have jobs or businesses or other commitments alone, and the $20 a day is an insult to say the least...
  10. Bubbles in foil 2 days after application

Is their time to remove the chrome and gild the raised areas with silver or white gold leaf? I'm sure that blows your budget and would be cutting the deadline super close but that's about the only thing with a "chrome" finish I'd trust outdoors short of real metal. I've had and seen too much...
  11. Anyone have a Dell xps m140 ... odd request

Have him take a digital picture of it from above, take that image into photoshop and use the perspective crop to crop it down perfectly square. Have him measure the exact width and height of the lid, scale the Photoshop image to the correct size and you have a template. I've done that many many...

  13. looking at 60" printer in my area for wraps

The Encad 850 won't work for wraps, that's an aqueous printer. You need solvent. Until you have a market built up, you should really consider outsourcing your wrap printing to someone. This way you can hone your design and installation skills and make sure there is indeed a market for what you...
  14. New flatbed digital- 110,000 sqft/hr

I can definitely see a niche market printing cheap-o fold-over cardboard yard signs and election signs. Not that they're a high dollar or high profit item, but they'd probably provide some okay volume to use as filler work between bread and butter jobs. Being able to do shorter runs of...
  15. Moving Day!

Awesome Larry, I'm jealous! Please post up some moving-in pictures and some moved in pictures! I love seeing people's work environments.
  16. What brands do you use for banner stands

Really anything from Orbus (short of the DFA line, which they'll even admit are not very nice) is going to be high quality. We've never had a problem with anything they sell. The Barracuda and Orient are both great. We sell a lot of the Contender stands if someone wants a lower priced model...
  17. This should get a laugh..

I got it, struck me as funny too. That's some supplier, can't even precut coro blanks!
  18. Wholesale Subcontract Cut Vinyl Decals

Thanks Fred! Ad Datcat, I sent you a PM.
