If no black on nozzle check, check if black is low or out. Low can cause you to lose you prime. Do a wash if still no black hook a syringe to you cap station and pull black through cap. PS Make sure your Rip does not have your black turned off for some reason.

Buying a 6 color ink jet kinda puts the spot color thing to bed. The white issue still is one that needs to be addressed thou. I would say inkjet is 5 to 10 times cheaper than thermal. My two cents anyway.

I have used third party inks and seen OEM mutoh inks. I prefer Mutoh. They have better density. I will stay with Mutoh. F>>> the warranty Mutoh serves a better more dense drink.

Are you plotting vinyl or contour cutting ? Sounds like your plotter thinks it is looking for marks for contour cutting. I would contact Graphtec , they helped me with a issue.
