  1. SECOND HAND GS6000

Not sure what a PG is my dude.
  2. Need Help Installing vinyl over the bars on large windows

I would have been condescending too, due to the use of the term "window bars". I was thinking a security/prison bar type scenario and trying to fathom how and why anybody would wrap those, that's the only reason i opened this thread. But it wouldn't have been "mansplaining"! i didn't even...
  3. SECOND HAND GS6000

i love that machine! it's slow, but it's quality and colour is fantastic. It's an expensive head to replace, so check that thoroughly. it would be worth paying an epson tech to check it out for you, if there's one nearby.
  4. Adobe Photoshop Or Illustrator???

i worked in more traditional print shops for nearly 20 years before i started in signage. I know the adobe suite in and out and when i was presented with flexi it felt clunky and just plain awful. I have an archive of work in flexi format from previous operators that i occasionally have to use...
  5. Need Digital Printer

I'd go with an HP latex myself. There's no daily, or even weekly cleaning required, they're just ready to print when you are. your rolands (blech), mimaki's etc all tend to need manual head cleaning, and don't like sitting unused for long. The consumables tend to cost a little more, but i think...
  6. Logo / trailer decal i just did (inspired by this forum...lol.)

In addition to others comments re: the typeface, bandana-masks don't really conform to the lips like that, and he looks funny not being 'grunged up" like the rest of the logo.
  7. how to roll premasked frosted vinyl

Wait, like just one big rectangle? do you even need app tape? if it's lots of little ones it makes sense. Is transporting flat an option? cos that's the best option.
  8. Question Does the Latex 310 have the ability to overprint

Try adjusting/removing the amount of cyan in the black. I'm not familiar with printing with flexi, but in onyx or colorgate you can just fiddle with the curves.
  9. How to Find Car Dimensions

wikipedia almost always has the wheelbase measurements, and it's pretty rare that you can't find a good square side-shot of a vehicle.
  10. Silly Question ... Spray Bottles

They're all I use for solvents, they don't leak or break, 5 year warranty too! For wet application stuff i use a gt 096 polyspray 2, which is pump pressurized and works beautifully.
  11. Adobe Adds Font Matching to Photoshop

i'm finding the "what the font" app on my phone is working better than their website, or anything else i've tried. I've resorted to taking photos of my monitor more than once and had great results.
  12. I see stars

10 year street decals? He's over-selling that right? there's no such thing.
  13. What kind of PC do you get for large format files .tiffs and such

You don't need an I9 with 32gb ram and a GTX1080 to process a big tiff. Sure it's nice to have that speed, but a 10 year old machine with integrated graphics can do it too. I'd suspect that either something is up with the file, the pc, or pebkac.
  14. Remember scanning?

i used to scan and clean up medium format film a fair bit in the 90s. I miss the days where you'd tell Quark express to generate a pdf then take an hour for lunch while your computer was busy. I really dug how the powerpc macs would let you buffer keystrokes too, my party trick was laying out...
  15. Glass Splashback Reverse Print - Adhesives?

Nope nope nope. I've tried that and failed, lucky it was just freebie for my mum. VHB etc pulls the print off the glass over time.
  16. Any tips on taking pictures so that everything sizes up the same?

I made this magnet for quick and dirty vehicle measurement. it's enough for most work, It's rare i get a job that requires more precision. If i do need the precision, i'll take proper measurements, draw it flat in illustrator, then stretch that graphic onto a photo to create proofs, rather than...
  17. Big magnets

Oh I've read about that, it's so petty! I'd go for vinyl and get a car cover in that situation, or 'cover-up' magnets for parking at home?
  18. Need Help Canvas textured wall film advise

"Canvas" comes in a huge variety of finishes. sure the phototex texture might not be the first thing you think of when someone says canvas, but i'd be showing it to the customer. That stuff is so nice to install and remove, it's definitely worth a try.
  19. Thinking about adding a Wacom (or similar)

I'm left handed but mouse with my right. Having a tablet to my left is great! There's plenty of tasks that a mouse is more suited to, i only use the tablet when i need a "hand drawn" feel in artwork, tracing logos etc is usually better done geometrically, of course it all depends on the...
  20. Thinking about adding a Wacom (or similar)

It's supposed to do that? you treat "off pad" as moving the cursor, and "on pad" as having the left mouse button down, ya dig?
