the cricket people are buying more and more these days - all I see on FB are co.'s selling 12x12 squares for huge profits . HTV and vinyl for $6-12 dollars a square , craft stores marketing it also doesn't help
do you have the latest material update and fire file ver. loaded ? I started making a 1 inch x 11.8 box at the beginning of jobs so the printhead is warmed up and I can see issues prior to wasting materials . seems to work at least for me - you could also try to print on other materials and see...
I hate when I get punched material with " boogers" . after inquiring to my supplier turns out they punch their own materials and they haven't replaced the punch tines on their machine for 3 years , once they did I haven't had a problem since ( guess they got tired of me returning materials)...
can you use printed 1 yr. removable vinyl ? I had to do this for some Rose bowl banners so they could reuse them at a later date . I just left the center area unprinted so they could order whatever they wanted and remove and apply over and over .......... great repeat business all year long...
don't think the edge prints need heat to laminate , at least the Gerber brand laminates don't . just buy cold lam. materials . max print size of edge is 11.8 inches so you either need to buy their stuff ( 13 inches) or cut down larger rolls .
that works , I bought a second hand electric paper laminator from a school and converted it to just do my edge stuff - has heat but i just turned it off . It has both top and bottom roll feed but I just use the top roll feed - GBC-4120 14 1/2 rollers I could also adjust the rollers so I can...
there's also a fedex / USPS scam going around that you have an undelivered package and need to confirm the address - they give you a fake conf. / shipping # and want you to follow a link . don't do it ! a friend did and they wanted money to " re deliver " his package , wanted CC info or bank...
on one of my computers when I upgraded to 10 it reinstalled the windows drivers , not sure why but I just had to delete the windows driver(s) and reinstall the Gerber drivers (serial or parallel interfaces using the conversion cables (Gerber Edge, Gerber Plotters) not really a biggie just a PITA
The handheld one has its limits . One must keep it away from the printer and only hit the vinyl or you could damage the printer circuit boards I’ve been told . My buddy spent a few hundred dollars on a wall mounted one that does his whole shop and it works very well ( eBay)
I've done that , I have an old static gun for vinyl LP'S ( realistic discotron electronic static eliminator )
I use it mostly for static cling and doing photo positives for a few silk screeners
ebay has many starting at $65. to thousands
agree
the method above ( x-mas tinsel ) only reduces the static created from the vinyl traveling not the machine itself ( so many plastic parts now a days ) -
Don't hate , it works - many years ago when visiting a buddy's shop he had this on his printers / plotters for static .
**MUST BE GROUNDED !!** I laughed because it was June and he had X-MAS tinsel on his machines but he had no static . I've be doing it ever since on mine . I have one grounded...
hike around at night in a bigfoot outfit - just enough to scare him but not long enough for him to shoot at you or get a laser pointer and beam the cameras to kill the optics
check out topazlabs (topazlabs.com) pricy software but does the trick - i've used their products in the past , they run promos all the time this is not an ad or endorsement just a suggestion to solve your problem
