I have seen "stealth" reflective graphics on police cruisers and they usually looked liked regular black reflective on black cars.
I have one to do and when we did a sample the black reflective wasn't as "stealth" as they'd like. It's not really black.
Is there something else that these are done...
I subbed out an order for a translucent print for an electric face to a major wholesaler.
I asked for a "translucent print to be applied first surface to white acrylic".
The print looks terrible when illuminated. I told them about the problem and asked how they made it, was it layered?
They said...
I searched because I know this has been covered but couldn't find it.
We are restoring a monument sign that has clear anodized brushed aluminum letters.
They cleaned up real nice with scotchbrite pads & prepsol.
I'm pretty sure we need to clear them since we've probably cut through the anodized...
I have a realtor customer who I do a ot of work for, but NOT their 18x24 For Sale signs.
They have some that are duirect printed on ACM and they scratch pretty easy. They want to know if I can
do anything to help them hold up better. I was thinking Frog juice or something similar, don't really...
OK, with all the incredibley lengthy discussions on copyrights that take place here, I was thinking about the lack of mention of it in most sign magazines when they feature someone's work that includes images/designs that are obviously copyrighted. I was just looking at an article about some...
I've been using Omega 5 for a while now but occasionally run into some issues with ungrouping things, especailly text.
Say I have a lne of text and I have appiled an arc to it, but I need to adjust just a few of the letters, I turn off smart edit and ungroup the letters.
Then when I move a ltter...
Someone posted a pic of an old sign on FB and was looking for information about where it came from. I asked them what the signmaker's "bug" in corner said.
They thought it was a cool term and wondered where it came from. I nvere really thought about it but always assumed it was because from a...
I have a buddy who has some metal parts that were engraved. He wants to fill the engraving with black and maybe silver or gold. He described a materail that he's seen used that isn't paint, more like a resin, that is heated an used to fill the engraved letters. It has to be outdoor durable. Any...
So I just noticed a sign we installed a few years ago is falling apart. It's 1/2" Lusterboard (aluminum bonded to plywood core)
and we've had been using it for many years with no problems, but the lately we're having a lot of failures. These are usually double sided custom shape signs installed...
I have a large wall sign to install. 10'x32', 2x2 welded aluminum frame with dibond panels gled & screwed, built in three sections to be assmbled on site before lifting. The install is subbed out. I usually hire a sign installation company but they haven't been very reliable lately and the...
Pulling into the parking lot at Walgreens I saw this and thought some kid at the store had repainted some old coro signs...but no, all the coro signs & banners have the same "grunge" blue with kiddy style casual font. This is supposed to reflect well on a place that fills precriptions and give...
I think the power supply in my trusty workhorse Edge LE just died.
It was working fine and just stopped.
I replaced the two fuses by the switch and the internal one, with freshly purchased fuses.
Still nothing.
Where can I get a power supply for this? Only Gerber? ( I Hope not). I would think...
I use Eric, The Vector Doctor off and on, mostly when I'm a bit overwhelmed. It's great having incredibly skilled extra hand when needed. This past week he did several jobs for me, including a rush job and then today a logo delivered 2 days ahead of the requested time, which means I can get...
I have a client who wanted a couple outdoor durable, ver durable ches boards, to be mounted on/in a couple existing tables.
I found the perfect product, anodized aluminum chess board at a reasonable price and got the job. Then the manufacturer dropped out of the business. I haven't found a...
Anyone have a source for a aprx 6'x8' double sided custom fabricated UL listed electric sign box with half round top and drop-in face.
My source doesn't make anything that isn't from an extruded frame, This would have to be made the old school way with
sheet metal. I need the drop in face...
Seems to be my month for Gerber problems.I had my Gerber Envision 375 repaired ( a new carriage assembly) and now that I have it back I'm getting an error when sending a job. "comm. framing error 38" The internal test cut works fine.I have installed it exactly as it was before having it...
