  1. Blowing F3 fuse SP300

It seems as if you have a bad head. On the ribbon testing you did, keep the following in mind. Never criss-cross ribbons on the same head, as each side of the head connections have different functions and you can cause mainboard issues by doing that. Also, both ribbons should be plugged in at...
  2. Need help with Roland!!

Did the techs do the force adjustment calibrations for the cutter? This requires a special dummy tool that replaces the blade holder and 2 different force gauges with 2 different ranges. I had a similar issue with a VG and I determined there was an issue while performing this calibration. I...
  3. SC-540v print “shifts” at end of print

Clean the encoder strip itself with acetone and a microfiber cloth. Clean the encoder sensor by sliding a thin cloth moistened with isopropyl alcohol back and forth in the slot and dry with air pressure. Be sure the encoder strip is centered in the slot on the sensor when reinstalling the sensor.
  4. Blowing F3 fuse SP300

I would suggest you replace the print head ribbons. Swapping the ribbons and blowing the other fuse pretty much narrows your issue down to those ribbons.
  5. Need Help Roland Versacamm VS 540 printing striped barcode black line

Reseat the head ribbon cables, at both the head side and the carriage board side. When doing so, closely examine the traces at the ends of the ribbons for any damage, replace if needed. If reseating the ribbons doesn't fix it, replace them. Please report your results so others may benefit...

  8. Sp540v replacing ink constantly and overflow always full. Why???

Check your caps for swelling of the inner "foam". It that is swollen and touching the bottom of the heads, they will act as a wick and do exactly what is happening. If they are after market caps, replace them with Roland OEM caps.
  9. Need Help Roland Versacamm 540i Just Printing Black Streaks

There is no telling what caused it. How old is the head? Sometimes they just fail. The 2 main causes of head failure are clogging and head strikes.
  10. Need Help Roland Versacamm 540i Just Printing Black Streaks

The captop has absolutely nothing to do with this problem. This is an electronic issue, not an ink flow issue. Based on the new info on the history of the problem, I would reassess my diagnosis to possibly being the printhead itself. Unless you are technically adept, you might want to consider...
  11. Need Help Roland Versacamm 540i Just Printing Black Streaks

Definitely looks like bad ribbon cables. Any head crashes ? What occurred around the time it started printing like this? You did not specify which 540i model series, i.e., SP, VP, or VS. The ribbons and heads are different on the different model ranges. The SP & VP series are easy and can be...
  12. Roland print and cut alignment

Any results after doing the calibrations I suggested?
  13. Black printing blue-ish

It looks like your black is dropping out. If you do a test print immediately after this occurs, what does it look like. I suspect the black damper is failing. Also check the black cartridge, as they sometimes run out of ink and the empty tab doesn't come out far enough to stop the printer.
  14. Need Help Roland VP540 new print heads but blue not printing correct

Are the caps you replaced Roland OEM caps? If not, try swapping the magenta and cyan caps and see what happens. Aftermarket caps are very hit and miss.
  15. Roland print and cut alignment

This is a scan alignment issue. The pinch rollers and grit rollers only control the feed or front to back alignment. I would suggest the following steps, in the given order. Initialize the Limit Aging - Feed, Scan and Cutting Linear Encoder Crop-Cut Alignment Print-Cut Alignment This will...

On Thursday, 4-8-21, I posted a response in thread "Chromalux Sublimation Color Help" offering some guidance in profiling. I also said the OP could call me for further help if needed, as profiling discussion can get a bit complicated. There was no solicitation for business. This post was...

  19. Need Help Roland VG-640 cutting issues

Check the condition of your pinch rollers, especially the outer rollers. They are a common cause of media shifting during contour cutting.
  20. Chromalux Sublimation Color Help

Onyx works just fine with sublimation. In my last job, I ran 12 sublimation printers profiled through Onyx, and had neutral grays and great color. Go for it!
