we were recently told by a rep that after the warranty wears off on our mimaki printer/cutter that we could switch from mimaki solvent inks to marabu solvent inks
to save a good bit of money. has anyone used marabu inks (pro & cons) please.
gimp is a free-bee and IS IN NO WAY close to illustrator or it would not be free - spend the money for illustrator - it is about 21$'s per month! - he can learn flexi also BUT if he works in Illustrator
that is the tool he is use too! - illustrator is the universal app of everyone! PERIOD -...
make sure that you settings are correct (8600-160)
also make sure your media sizing is correct - DO NOT just use a roll setting - use the job setting size
are you using CUTMASTER 4?
have you tried to reset registration marks?
they should be a bit thick and no less than .75
use the regular corner registration marks and ALSO run marks up the sides at least 5 inches apart
on the control panel on the graphtec
make sure that your setting used...
make sure your size is correct - in cm4
have you tried to do the multiple reg marks along the sides as well
i would set it up with standard crop marks in the corners and then along the side every 10 inches - crops should be at least .75 long!
we have a mimaki - love it - we use ONLY illustrator/photoshop and rasterlink 6 and illustrator cymk/rgb color OR PMS colors - rasterlink6 is very easy to use once you get used to all the options
we have a cjv30/130-it is a work horse and more - we do it and 50 inch rolls work for us. we did not change the rip software - we find it very easy to run and it has never been a problem for us - if set up correct a cutting blade can last up to 3 years compared to our Graphtec that we get about...
make sure your cut layer reads Cutcontour make sure your cut line is green 100c -100y and is a spot color and labled Cutcontour and best have the stroke .25 -- MAKE SURE you save the document as eps and that strokes are set to outlines and that high res is selected in the options! -- i find it...
you will never make enough money on this (time and materials to remove) - to do it the RIGHT way bring it to a body shop have them strip it and repaint - then you do your thing!
OR
make a new black panel to cover the area - screw it on - then letter it
i just went back and read (clear coating will be done)! so again a GX-24 might be fine -- the GX 24 should have come with 3 wheels instead of 2 - to help registered cuts
we have a roland - mimaki and a graphtec 8600 - i say it might be an issue because we have found that doing a print and then a cut/laminate on the roland over 24 inches there was creeping and the registration marks did not read correct - we bought the graphtec because of that being a consistent...
