  1. Duratex

You can get this material from other suppliers, Ultraflex still makes it. We buy ours from Fellers, I think Lexjet sells it also. Love it for retractables. Been using it for about 12+ years.
  2. Vendor for .125" aluminum with white finish

I'm pretty certain it doesn't exist, but you could try Wrisco.
  3. Will 1"thick Excel Expanded PVC Warp With Exterior Use?

Thread pirate. Tim, those signs are nice. I'm curious, how did you do the Kiwanis sign with the bubble top? Is that just a separate piece attached?
  4. Need Help Mimaki JFX200 Printers & ONYX RIP Compatibility?

I talked to a Mimaki rep directly before buying it. They told me Onyx will run the printers, but functionality could be limited. Whatever that means, I am presuming maybe with the layering of the special inks (clear, primer, white, etc). He really pressed hard for RasterLink though. I have...
  5. Need Help Mimaki JFX200 Printers & ONYX RIP Compatibility?

We just bought 2 Mimaki UV printers, JFX-200 and UCJV300-160 roll printer. We are in the same boat. Dealer knows practically nothing about Onyx and we hate Rasterlink. I never realized how awesome Onyx is until dealing with this. We have printed from Onyx to the Mimaki printers, but the profiles...
  6. Financing needed for bucket truck

I've never understood why people use financing companies. Is it just easier to do? My local bank has always been easy to work with, and they offer much better rates. It also feeds your local economy and has brought me a decent amount of business in return. OP, maybe try another bank? If a bank...
  7. HDU primer

We have used this primer before, and it does work great. The problem we have is the topcoats. What do you paint on top of this? It has to be oil based, correct? We have found that unless we wait 4-5 days, 1 shot paints react to the primer.
  8. Wholesale wallpaper printing

I have contacted a number of wholesalers. Seems like if it is not something they do regularly, and/or have the material on hand, they are very reluctant to take on the project.
  9. Wholesale wallpaper printing

We have a 60in Epson solvent printer, but we have had issues with solvent ink rubbing off during install. Sorry, I should have specified UV printing for this.
  10. Wholesale wallpaper printing

We are applying 55" wide strips to an archway. It would make installation very difficult to have to do it in 2 pieces.
  11. Wholesale wallpaper printing

Yes, I know it is vinyl. I just mean I need the paste-on style, not adhesive-backed. Only MM I see is Merritt. ABA does not appear to print wallpaper.
  12. Wholesale wallpaper printing

Looking for a wholesaler to do some wallpaper printing. Real wallpaper that requires paste, not adhesive-backed stuff. Seems like most wholesalers don't print this material. Dreamscape Suede ideally. I know about Indy Imaging, but they only print 54" wide material. Really need someone that...
  13. Paint specs to give to customer for murals

Just recommend they coat the wall with Gardz sealer. Then it doesn't matter what kind of paint they use.
  14. I"ve got no idea how to create this...

That is a font. I think it's called Slipstream
  15. Has anyone used Shieldz to prepare a wall for wall graphics?

Is Shieldz like Gardz? We used Gardz with great success recently. Our new policy is Gardz or high tack vinyl.
  16. Need Help Substrate suggestion for Vista inserts

We have had the exact same problem. Papers wrinkle, especially at larger sizes. The challenge is finding a material that is very thin, but rigid. Grimco's Rollup material has worked well for us. We solvent print it, but I believe it is Latex printable. Magic POS pro would probably work, too, but...
  17. HP PVC-free Durable Suede Wall Paper

Anybody know where to get this material? Seems like everyone is out of stock. We normally buy from Lexjet. I am waiting on call backs, but it doesn't look promising. Looking for 54"x100ft rolls. This is the 17mil DURABLE type, not the thinner 7mil material.
  18. Structural Engineers or Mechanical Engineers?

You need to work with a Sign Engineering firm , like Sullaway or YJ Inc. They cost much less and are very experienced with sign design .
  19. Suggestions clear or translucent acrylic w/ translucent vinyl?

You should use clear plex or polycarbonate, otherwise you are getting two layers of white diffuser and it will make the sign dark. However, the best way to make a backlit panel is to have white plex with a clear vinyl graphic that is printed color white color. Signs 365 or most any wholesaler...
  20. Suggestions agressive adhesive vinyl

I have run into this a number of times, where a customer comes in and either a local competitor or some online place will tout 8-10 year life for digital prints, because that is the life of unprinted cast vinyl. I have lost sales over this because I am being realistic. Oh well, better to do the...
