  1. Flatbed Printers- Entry Level Questions

Thanks for the information and replys. I know flatbed printers are expensive, but I thought maybe I could get like a mutoh 1608 for $ 30K or less. What triggered me thinking flatbed was time- I do all the sign work after I get off my day job and the weekends and thought a flatbed might help me...
  2. Flatbed Printers- Entry Level Questions

I have been researching flatbed printers trying to find a good entry level one. Currently we do 10-15 4' x 8' acm (polymetal) signs per month as our main signs and various size coroplast signs (20 a month) using our roland 540 to print the vinyl, then laminate if needed, cut, weed and mount to...
  3. Trimming ACM (Polymetal)

Thanks you'll. I think I will practice on a scrap piece with the knife and have my son-in-law try a router (if he screws up even more reason not to like him..lol) Thanks Larry
  4. Wanted 8' Stomp Sheet Metal Shear

I am looking for an 8' stomp(foot) sheet metal shear. Please pm with any information. Thanks Larry
  5. Trimming ACM (Polymetal)

Yes it is a vinyl print mounted to the substrate. Maybe I will get a good carpet knife and a straight edge and go to trimming. Thanks Larry
  6. Trimming ACM (Polymetal)

I have a 4' x 8' of acm or polymetal with a full print on it that needs one of the 8' sides trimmed 1/4" off it. The place I use with a shear says they cannot make a cut any narrower than 1". How can I trim the panel and not ruin the print? Thanks Larry
  7. Royal Sovereign 1650H Help

Ok got it fixed. It seems there was a small bolt on the left side of the table that was holding down a lever on what I presume is a safety switch which must have went to a long gone paper guard........All is well again. Thanks Larry
  8. Royal Sovereign 1650H Help

Our RS 1650H just quit running, it ran fine all day, day help turned it off and now it wouldn't run. It will heat up, you can set the speed at ant level and when you close the rollers-nothing. I can turn both rollers by hand, the chain is intact. Any thoughts on how to get this thing running? I...

  10. Logo Help

Thanks just sent it to the doctor and hopefully he can help. I thought the beveling had to be done in photoshop (not sure thought). I will await his answer. Well no go on the vector doctor. Says no function in AI can match or do this and the bevels are photoshop. Any ideas here? They had...
  11. Logo Help

We are currently working on a logo for a local municipality and I need some help. Let me see if I can expalin this correctly- we have the image and for the most part it is vectored (couple of areas need some detail work) and what we need is someone who can I guess in photo shop or a better...
  12. HELP!! Reflective

I just went through something just like this. Printed 10' of reflective, laminated it and spent the next 4 hours trying to get it to read the crop marks. It would skew up to 2" from front to back. If I remember right Roland says the versacamms are accurate within 1/8" per foot- 10' = 1 1/4"...
  13. Help With Media Feeding Askew

Thanks for all the help. After 3 hours this morning I threw the SOB in the trash and will do 2 5' prints and overlap. Some days this job sucks. Thanks Larry
  14. Help With Media Feeding Askew

The grit rollers feel good and rough (I presume they should feel that way to grip). I am considering running some yellow masking the length of the media on both sides to give me some more thickness and maybe some bite as well. Thanks Larry
  15. Help With Media Feeding Askew

Jack not to my knowledge. We have used the same reflective and laminate on vehicle graphics that were 90" long and did not have a problem. From the front crop marks to the back crop marks the media simple moves like 1" sideways. Thanks Larry
  16. Help With Media Feeding Askew

I am having an issue with our vs540 feeding a job to cut back straight. I printed a job to be laminated then cut on 10' of reflective, removed it after printing, laminated it and now when I try and run in back through the vs 540 by the time it gets to the crop marks at the end it has moved over...

Can someone please help me identify this version of this brush font? A customer brought this picture in and I cannot seem to find this exact version. Thanks Larry
  19. Website Effectiveness

Lots and lots of great replies and information, Thanks to all. My initial thoughts for our revamp are:a home page with a general description of who we are and what we do; a design page that will display our work by catorgies; a page with more details about our products and services; a links...
  20. Website Effectiveness

We currently have a website that is hosted by one of our regional telephone books and is very generic (very basic template and very basic information on our part). We do not do any ecommerce on it, nor do we plan to. Recently I have been looking at getting this site redesigned by someone that...
