  1. Anyone update to 19 yet?

I am going to try loading it tomorrow... I was just at a workshop this week with Mark Rugen and some if the features are pretty neat. Only 1 person in the class had updated and he had stability issues so had to roll back but I am not sure of the issues or if it was some configuration issues. He...
  2. Nifty Tips - Measurements from your desk

Quick addition to speed up the sizing in flexi... 1. draw box over sign 2. select box 3. Arrange > resize (CTRL+K) 4. Type in actual width measured from map 5. Check the "apply scale to all" box and click the check mark A few notes: This will only scale EVERYTHING in the document. Sometimes I...
  3. Any suggestions for A-frame racks for storing sheet material

We started the shelves on one of our pallet rack sections at 8-1/2 ft and built a base and vertical dividers to hold substrates vertically. It works well and is right by our panel saw. We also have a shorter section for drops.
  4. How's about this one?

Not sure I would eat at a place with a hay baler in the yard, ha ha.
  5. Epson S40600 or Epson S60600

I think you will be very happy with that setup, we run graphtec plotters and currently an older RS laminator but looking to upgrade. Just a heads up, the crate for the epson is HUGE compared to some others. We needed a forklift along with the liftgate to unload it. Its about 10' long, 4' wide...
  6. Epson S60600 Ink Durability

I have not noticed any less durability with our epson compared to other eco-solvent inks. I just ran a thousand decals for a customer who gives them away and left them unlaminated. After cutting them apart with a Metoschnitt I did not notice any scratches or damage. Ink adhesion and durability...
  7. Epson S40600 or Epson S60600

They get heavy, over 100 lbs for the big rolls
  8. Need Help Cut ACM twisting....

Interesting problem, definitely part of the manufacturing or processing as mentioned above. None of the other solutions seem reasonable to me if you are running thousands or even hundreds of them. I would guess that you are not purchasing top quality material if you are running high quantity. My...
  9. Epson S40600 or Epson S60600

Like others said, unless you have someone dedicated to production I wouldn't worry about the speed. We added a S40600 last year and have been very happy with it. My guess is that you wont be running it more than 2-4 hours per day on average (depending on what your main market is). You will learn...
  10. Where to get this square tubing frame

Discount steel is always fantastic to work with and I am very fortunate to have them close by me in MN, they have a TX location as well not sure how close they are to you. https://www.discountsteel.com/locations/index.cfm?PAGE_ID=30
  11. Attaching 6mm ACM

https://button-fix.com/files/Technical_Global/Technica/Button-fix_strength_testing-report.pdf They have a couple others for other materials as well. I didn't look at them to see what type of fastening was used. Most of the application examples appear to be indoor architectural paneling...
  12. Attaching 6mm ACM

Any of you ever use the button fix system before? Its a neat panel mounting system from across the pond. https://button-fix.com/ I am not sure I would trust them outdoors for a long term install but they have signage examples on their website and lots of loading and testing data. I came...
  13. Which 64" Solvent do I buy?

I have a Epson S40600 and a Mutoh 1628x currently and would probably recommend the Epson. I got the Mutoh as a used deal that had the white and silver clog up from inactivity, we refurbed the machine (new lines, circ pumps, head, etc) and converted to dual CMYK and have been running it for a...
  14. Exporting transparent backgrounds in Flexi

I am on 12 sp5p4 build2898 (I believe that is the latest build) and it seams to be working fine. It also might be what you are trying to export that is the issue, if it is a non-transparent bitmap you are trying to export it will not automatically make it transparent. You would have to use the...
  15. Exporting transparent backgrounds in Flexi

You probably have export options suppressed so the options window doesnt come up. Export as a .png, make sure "suppress options" is UN checked, pop up window has a check box for "transparent"
  16. What's is for Lunch?

I have my own personal chef at the shop...chef boyardee
  17. Winter is coming and so is Flexi 19...

Yeah I am interested to see if the "sketch" is any good. Probably just another way to have customers make extra work for us. Wildwest, I forgot about your disconnected preference as you have mentioned it many times before, that in and of itself is a reason they will probably always offer a...
  18. Winter is coming and so is Flexi 19...

Interesting, any particular reason everyone is against the subscription software? Maybe its because of my age, but I have gotten almost numb to the fact that most software will never be an outright purchase/ownership. I like to "own" my equipment as much as everyone else, but I have a hard time...
  19. Suggestions Where to find/buy vector comic story board

Most of the stock websites have what you are looking for, it might take some digging but you could easily composite some of those together for mural. https://stock.adobe.com/search/images?load_type=search&is_recent_search=&k=comic&native_visual_search=&similar_content_id= If you have a flexi...
  20. Any ideas for a "job" progression reader board

I have used a few but currently run Asana, it is usually used for longer term projects or outsourced jobs as mentioned by bannertime but this is because of the size of our shop (small). If we were larger I would make sure 90% of new jobs run through such a "system" and also look to integrate a...
