  1. Installation of composite aluminium panels on exterior walls

Good morning! I was wondering if you guys had any tips and tricks on how to install composite aluminium panel to the outside of a building, without having screws/bolts showing, yet without having a full frame around the sign? Thanks for everything, as always!
  2. SP-300 Headaches - Not printing clean and dropping a lot of ink.

We all know the girlfriend is the real boss, in any business. Please let us know whenever you have done the tests, we'll be more than happy to help as much as we possibly can. Don't be shy to PM.
  3. Gemini (Acrylic letters) Installation Tips and Tricks?

Awesome! All this is exactly what I was hoping for as an answer. Thank you so much, you just took off a few pounds of stress off my shoulders. Won't having too much of a small hole cause the drywall to crack or "bump" up? As for the clear silicon, I guess I can dip the stud in, when needed...
  4. Gemini (Acrylic letters) Installation Tips and Tricks?

Thanks for the input. Would you order a mounting pattern for smaller fonts, or how would you go about to align them, if there was quite a few letters? Also, I've ordered some "disk" installation letters in the past, But wasn't exactly sure how to properly align these, since the patterns they...
  5. Opinions? new shop van wrap

Good! We're liking the first one, but would put the grey texture from the last one, on the top section...It gives it a deeper look. Awesome work!
  6. SP-300 Headaches - Not printing clean and dropping a lot of ink.

Um I've had a similar issue in the past. From the test print, it still seems quite good to me. I would strongly recommend you try and print with either different profile, or on the other hand, try and print it with another combination for your black (On our VP, Black 6 PC seems to be the best...
  7. Gemini (Acrylic letters) Installation Tips and Tricks?

Good morning all, I am to install my first Gemini (most probably Acrylic cut letters, or maybe metal letters - depending on the customer's final decision) lettering on a painted drywall. The lettering will be at the entrance of his office, on a wall that is at a standard "view" height. We're...
  8. Roland VP-540 printing for vehicles? And media type?

Thanks for the information; I've placed an order for these exact products... I was actually looking at the Oracal sheet a while back, and thought about ordering this combo, but wanted confirmation! I'll be die-cutting the 3551, printed and laminated. Nothing with Window perf (thank God!). I...
  9. Roland VP-540 printing for vehicles? And media type?

I have been having a little issue with printing for vehicles. Unfortunately, it is not something I have done many times, and it seems I did not do it right the first times around. I printed a few graphics (Logos and printed die-cut letters) for vehicles last summer, and now two of my customers...
  10. C-Store

Did you try on stock image websites, such as www.shutterstock.com ? You would probably be able to find them quite easily!
  11. Looking to buy new printer opinions?

I was in the same position a few days ago, looking into a new printer, due to (imaginary) problems with my current Roland. Quite honestly, I have read a lot about many brands, and got a lot of feedback from quite a lot of users. I must admit that although I have only had a single printing, I'm...
  12. Roland VP540 - Black ink spray ?

Finally, my problem has been solved. I feel quite stupid for what was causing the issue... But there is nothing I could do, for I did not know of the existence of this leveler on the printing head unit. As mentioned before, I had really bad training, when I purchased the machine. In fact, I...
  13. Mimaki printing costs VS Roland VP540

Wow! Very interesting story. Thank you the precious information. I love reading your story, all while explaining many things; it is very much appreciated. It's unbelievable how you are able to buy ink for the JV5 for 25$ a liter! But again, the money fetched for your prints must not be close...
  14. Mimaki printing costs VS Roland VP540

Thank you for the advice. I'm actually on the same opinion, concerning the cost of ink. I'm currently using a VP540, and am using Nazdar inks (Technically, EcoSol ink. I managed to go from 135$ for a 440ml, to 85$, which is exactly the same reproduction in coloring as the OEM ink, with very...
  15. Mimaki printing costs VS Roland VP540

Good afternoon guys, I am currently running a 5 year old VP-540. It was my first digital printer, and I have made quite a few mistakes, in maintenance, and things I didn't know I wasn't supposed to do, meaning that I'll most likely either start putting money in it, or simply replace it (I'm not...
  16. Die-cutting the liner/backing ?

Wow. Oh...My... GOD. Why was I not taught that back in the training days of the machine. This is exactly what I needed. Thank you so much.
  17. Die-cutting the liner/backing ?

Hi Guys, I have absolutely no idea where to post this question, but I assume this section would most likely be my closest chance of success, due to these being printed decals. I have a huge contract upcoming, for one oh my best customer. They are requesting some roughly 12" x 24" decals...
  18. Gemini/Acrylic Cut Lettering on Composte Aluminium?

Thanks for the great explanation. Very much appreciated. The existing sign is a one piece back light Lexan panel (~30" x ~216" visible, roughly 1.5" frame overlap). I wanted originally to remove the current plastic, and insert my composite aluminum panels, but for some reason, my employee...
  19. Gemini/Acrylic Cut Lettering on Composte Aluminium?

I'm using NUDO PolyMetal, 1/8". I was using tearing apart, because I have no idea on how strong the bond between the core and the aluminum is. I'm just not wanting the sign to fall on someones head - it would damage my sign. Haha.
  20. Gemini/Acrylic Cut Lettering on Composte Aluminium?

Meaning I would order the letters with pad mount, and use VHB to apply it to the composite aluminum ? Wouldn't that risk of "tearing" the aluminum from the core ?
