  1. Shopping for new canvas printer to replace / supplement existing HPZ6100 - advice?

That's actually what we're going to do, and let the client decide. I guess I was more immediately curious as to the difference between what the Z6100 ink looks like on the canvas when side-by-side with the latex and if anyone had any experience with that (as in is it more vibrant? is color...
  2. Shopping for new canvas printer to replace / supplement existing HPZ6100 - advice?

Hi everyone, We have an artist client we've been working with for several years who has been happy with our canvas prints from a old HP Z6100. He's been ordering 100 at a pop for a while, but recently placed an extremely large order for a few thousand. Great news for us and we're very excited...
  3. Sign quoting / Job Tracking software solutions

I used Estimate for a long, looonnnng, time - the last 15 years, basically. Last I looked they seem to have totally abandoned that software and any further development of it. As someone mentioned earlier, it was a Mom&Pop operation, more or less (or at least came across that way), that offered a...
  4. Looking into selling GBC Orca 64 laminator, but didn't want to list it if not allowed

Thank you! I thought that might be the case. Appreciate it.
  5. Looking into selling GBC Orca 64 laminator, but didn't want to list it if not allowed

I looked around the site but did not see a section for selling equipment. Is that not allowed or did I miss the section?
  6. Vutek QS3220: Esko cut dots printing in wrong place?? Routing is WAY off

We use the efi Fiery RIP that came with the press, and the dots are placed while the file is in pre-press, but done remotely through the Esko Kongsberg router software / workstation. Sorry about using the word acrylic - old habit.
  7. Vutek QS3220: Esko cut dots printing in wrong place?? Routing is WAY off

Hopefully I can explain what's happening, here. I'm new to this particular shop and also to Vuteks (previously ran a Scitex FB6100). I'm not the press guy, either - just trying to figure out what the problem is. Printing on 1/4" acrylic sheets, 5' x10'. The art is low ink coverage, but hi-res...
  8. New to the HP latex printer family, so I have what may be a silly question.

So far we're really liking the new 360 we installed a little while ago. But my question is this: If I send multiple files to the printer (like for a bus wrap) why does the printer dry, pause, and reset as if I only sent a single panel? The 6-7 inches of material and 2 minutes or so between every...
  9. Installing a new Latex 360 today

I think you're right as far as blaming the media. We were thinking the same thing since we were also seeing some ink coverage inconsistencies in other places around the material. Do you have recommendations for a banner material? or do you think it's all about the age.
  10. Installing a new Latex 360 today

We figured out what's causing the pattern: it's the pinch roller. So if you're not having an issue worth the Grimco material, we'll probably go ahead and give that a chance. Thanks!
  11. Installing a new Latex 360 today

Happy with it, so far. We're just seeing some weirdness printing on banner vinyl. Inconsistent color saturation and "waves" showing up in areas. We're using Duratex, 15oz., smooth blockout banner vinyl with the preloaded HP Durable Frontlit Scrim Banner profile, since I have not created our own...
  12. Doing more vehicle wraps - need to add a dedicated wrap printer to our lineup

We primarily run a Scitex FB6100 UV here, and use it for flatbed, banners, and bus wraps. Boss is pushing van / vehicle wraps more and while the UV is ok for buses, I know cargo vans, etc. require more flexible ink than what our UV inks can generally do. I'd also like a higher rez printer to...
  13. L26500 sheet printing capability?

That's pretty much what I thought, since the promotional stuff didn't mention it. Thanks, everyone!
  14. Quick question about printing in 360x360 mode

All of my other speeds / modes line up perfectly from the head alignment I did previously. I've been searching for some kind of strictly "bi-directional alignment" procedure, but have not come across one, yet. Can I go into maintenance section and then specify the 360x360 mode and then perform...
  15. L26500 sheet printing capability?

About to make a purchase...Is it possible to print on sheet media (like an Epson can)? or is it strictly roll-to-roll. I can't find anything in the literature that says it can or can't.
  16. Quick question about printing in 360x360 mode

I'm running a JV-250SP outfitted for dye sub. We have an annual job where print quality is not really an issue (viewing conditions allow for it), but it's huge, square footage-wise. I decided this year to run it in the fastest mode I can print which is the 360x360, low quality, bidirectional...
  17. Looking at Latex as a new addition to our machine lineup, so I came here w/ questions

I've run many different types of printers, from an Encad at the beginning, to solvent Arizona 180 and pigment Roland in the middle, to our present day dyesub setup along with a Scitex FB6100 UV. As our client list evolves, we're looking into supplementing the hybrid FB6100 with a more dedicated...
  18. LX850 Color Consistency Problem

It could be as simple explanation as a different batch of media. In which case you'll have to just try to make the custom adjustments to match what you did 6 months ago. I've always told my clients in the case of replacing / repairing sections or panels of previously installed graphics that...
  19. Installing new graphics on top of old ones: Opinions?

I would say 3-4 years. Though I guess it's a possibility that the vehicle itself may have worn out by then, anyway.
  20. Installing new graphics on top of old ones: Opinions?

We have a client that wants us to redo the wrap on an old RV (4th time for this, I think). The last time we stripped it 3 years ago, the surface of the RV was looking pretty rough (lots of paint loss, body damage, etc) and we actually had to prime and spray paint some areas and cross our fingers...
