  1. !!!!!!! After Market Inks?????

We've been using the Triangle Eco-Sol inks in our Rolands and they've been great.
  2. Rally Stripes

How wide will the stripes be? If it's thin striping, I'd recommend getting some striping tape, otherwise we've been using the 3M 1080 for all our outdoor graphics and love it for vehicle work.
  3. Bathrooms.........................??

We've used several of the textured printable wall covering materials from KoroGraphics and they are pretty sweet. They print like banner material and apply with standard wallpaper adhesive.
  4. Cyan overspray - gotta finish a print for tomorrow

We've had similar problems with our Roland printers on occassion. On the Sc-540, we detrmined that the encoder strip was dirty. On our SJ-1000, it was a profile problem.
  5. Wrapping an Econoline

    :goodpost: Agree with this.
  6. Printing on Cardboard

We've done a fair amount of cardboard printing on our Inca UV flatbed for short runs and short term projects. There's a great cardboard product that we get from Sonoma Graphics called Enviroboard that is nicely smooth, bright white, 1/8" thick - prints and cuts like a dream.
  7. What vinyl do you use in retractable banner stands?

Hey All, We've been using the Bantex 13 oz. Curl-Free vinyl banner in retractable stands, but are looking to change due to supply issues. What are other people using? We tried a sample roll of polyethylene material, and the print quality was good, it lay flat, but scratched WAY too easily...
  8. Cutting a Partial Wrap

We had switched from 3M to Avery, but then we had a run where it seemed like every other roll we got had manufacturing flaws - we couldn't get a decent print if it had solid colors on it. Switched back to 3M and haven't had any problems.
  9. font help

font answer Looks like Bernard MT condensed.
  10. Help tweaking a PMS color

Are you trying to go with a different color or a screen or percentage of the 188? In order to keep it from feeling "orange" you may need to shift more to the cooler, bluer reds (higher numbers in the pantone book). You'll probably need to do that with the screened version as well, since...
  11. Midwest Sign & Screen Printing Supply

We've been ordering from the Portland, Oregon branch for 18 years, and they are fabulous! We've had very few issues over the years, and when we do, they are dealt with quickly and with kindness. They rock! I'd contact the manager of the branch with the rude employees and let them know you're...
  12. Banner mounting

You could try something we've done with fabric banners - glue or double-sided tape some 3mm PVC strips to the wall around the perimeter of the banner. Apply hook velcro to the PVC and loop velcro to the back of the banner. It's a nice clean look.
  13. Flexi and Cutter won't communicate

Unfortunately, an uninstall and reinstall is what you'll need to do. We seem to have to do that every 8 - 12 months.
  14. switching media

We started out using the 3M, then switched to the Avery for a while and LOVED it. Then we got several rolls in a row that seemed to have surface or coating defects. Partway through a long print run, we'd get spots or dropouts - areas where the solvent inks just weren't adhering to the vinyl...
  15. What went wrong !

Couple of questions: 1) Is the vinyl laminated? If so, with what? 2) How much did the vinyl get stretched when you applied it? 3) What did you clean the van with before application? Sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your wrap - hopefully we can all help you out.:Cool 2:
  16. Head worse after cleaning

Does the Seiko use wipers to clean the heads at any point in the cleaning cycle? Ou Roland was doing something similar and once we replaced the wipers, it got much better.
