  1. Switched to IJ35C, now having weird streaking problem

Me as well run probably four rolls a week and ours looks great never had a result like this other than a page feed error or something. Or maybe even try running it on a cloned IJ180cv3 profile see if that cleans it up.
  2. Laminator Issues

Some of this could be un even pressure on the rollers, even new machines can come not calibrated right. Ask the supplier you got the machine from if they have a push pull gauge, I am not familiar with this exact machine but we use one a lot to keep roll pressure the same. It looks similar to a...
  3. Question Back-Layed graphics on Clear Acrylic

Agree with both responses, print on clear and either flood coat with white out of an HPLV gun or back with white vinyl to rich up the colors of the clear
  4. How Concerned should I be about Gassing Out a print?

Ya and before I say this like I mentioned before if you are making yard sign tons on POP etc then fire away lam that stuff right off the printer but doing so can really change the quality of what you are making. all solvent ink are glycol or glycol ether based so over time the gasses etch...
  5. How Concerned should I be about Gassing Out a print?

If you are a quality printer and care about the customers that pay for the signage you provide I would either buy a latex and never worry about it again or continue to let prints gas out at least 12 hours. It is a scientific fact that a solvent print that has not fully gassed out will fail...
  6. Question Whats your squeegee type for installing ?

I keep 3m gold, an oshee all felt and a white geek wraps in my bag all the time, use all 3 for different applications. Like the rubber softer edge of the 3m gold at times the hard teflon edge of the geek wraps at times and the felt for matte materials certain wrap applications etc.
  7. Etched Glass vinyl application

8510 is one of the easiest etched films to apply it is thicker than some of the other films on the market such as 3m 7725. I install smaller pieces of 8510 dry and call it good. Bigger panels or full coverage windows I would wet apply. Good luck
  8. New to graphtec

Graphtecs are nice they will cut most anything you throw at them I would keep 45deg and 60deg blades on hand we use 45's for most of the day to day cut jobs say oracal 651-751 etc and use the 60's on thicker material sand blast mask paint masks laminated vinyl and stuff with smaller text or...
  9. Need Help Inside/Reverse vinyl installation on window help needed please

same as everyone before if you can not print white reverse print on clear and back with white vinyl we do it a lot with 3m clear and back with 751 white and get great results.
  10. "Staining" logo on refinished wood.

Just like mentioned before one shot clear will work fine, but I would not try to do it with just one mask unless you have experience doing so once the paint begins to dry it can bridge with the mask and cause fracturing. I would make a mask for the paint paint the image let dry till just tacky...
  11. "Staining" logo on refinished wood.

One shot paint pick or mix a color, you can reduce it with High temp reducer to create a transparent look similar to stain it will adhere to the clear coat. Pounce the design or cut a paint mask and call it good. You could trap out a second mask to apply a one shot clear over after the original...
  12. HP360 Lamination Problems

We have been running 300 series latex machines for 3+ years now all 3M vinyls and pairing laminates no issues with de lam. Only seen it on heavy saturated prints like previous people have said we just crank the heat on those types of runs. The way you are describing how easy it peels is scary to...
  13. Corel or Adobe?

I think good shops should use both corel has its pros and cons as well as adobe programs. This argument will never die, I think a lot of it depends on the type of shop you are what kind of work you are doing and really what clients you have. Companies that deal with and do a lot of work with...
  14. Need Help HELP E074 err Current Cr and Bands

o74 error can be a lot of things, i would start by looking into the page feed motor and disc sensor . We kept getting a lot of the same error and similar results a few years back and cleaned the the page feed encoder and it seemed to help for some time eventually we had to replace the whole...
  15. Does Fellers short everybody on small orders of "vinyl by the yard"?

Yep if you ever go to a fellers warehouse you will most likely see someone less excited about there job than you tracking rolls out on the tables and literally just using the length of the table to measure. It is not and will never be accurate. IF you can find a distributor that sells directly...

  18. Question Onyx 12- ripping files

Ya try scaling the file down a ton to get it into the rip and take it to full size.. maybe try saving as a flatten tiff instead of PDF. Save the Tiff and open in onxy directly don't export into onyx. I have never had a file rip that long or even close to that long.
  19. Need Help Best Way to Mount PVC Sign with NO Standoffs

Z-clips or VHB tape and a dab of silicone is what I would use if I am understanding what you are trying to achieve correctly. We direct mount pvc and acrylic signs directly to walls daily with 1"vhb and silicone. VHB is a great product just make sure they want the signs to be up for a bit it...
  20. Laminate Question for you

I worked in a shop that ran an old enduralam machine that would do the same thing on wider runs. The guy I worked with would grab the backing paper take up reel and hold it for a few seconds, this would cause the backing paper to pull down closer to the exposed adhesive. While the backing paper...
