I'm using VersaWorks. Its the rip software that comes with my printer. In my humble opinion, the rip software that comes with printers is generally much better than Flexi's rip + print.

I give the customer the option from the get-go. As stated from these other guys, I'd recommend always hemming the sides, and give the customer the option for top and bottom. If the customer does not get hemming top/bottom, put banner "swatches" with double sided sticky tape about 2-3 feet...
I saw at least 3 problems off the bat when I was comparing it to versaworks. Our company decided as a whole that Rip & Print was a bad idea from Flexi. Plus it saved me a lot on my Flexi package.
