Protesters swarm to Capitol, halt session on Biden victory

The biggest thing I get out of this is it proves how biased our media actually is. As mentioned, the BLM protests were labeled "mostly peaceful" although buildings were burnt down, property destroyed and lives ruined. This protest looks like it was a "mostly peaceful" protest that had some yahoos damage property. Yes it was the Capitol so that makes it worse but I don't believe they were going in there to cause harm to the congressman. The media tried labeling it as a "coup" and mayhem everywhere and congressman running for their lives.

I didn't spend a lot of time watching the news but I barely knew someone was actually killed cause the media hardly mentioned it. Can you imagine if a cop had shot and killed someone in a BLM protest. It would be all over the news.

Any violence/damaging property is wrong and the people caught doing it should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Hopefully they catch the yahoos yesterday and charge them. What is comical is how the media spins it depending upon who is doing the protesting and who the media wants to make look bad.

If the courts had heard the cases and the election was overturned, there would be more than a breach of security at the capital by the leftist groups...BLM, Antifa. The entire country would be burning, riots in every city. Yesterday was NOTHING compared to what could have happened. I just sat there watching thinking, "yup, not surprised at all". I'm still not convinced it was all Trump supporters. My guess is most of them were Antifa trying to make Trump supporters look bad. And the gal that died, just because she was in the military does NOT mean she was a Trump supporter.

The question is NOW WHAT. The Democrats have all the power. They clearly stole this election and they will just continue to keep stealing them. We will probably never see another Republican president. If Trump couldn't beat them with a record number of votes, it's going to be impossible to overcome the fraud in the future. Better hold on to your $2,000 checks because the government is coming for all businesses. Small business = power of the people and that's the last thing the Democrats want.

that's why the inclination is not to let this go.

there has to be some sort of "investigation" that will discover that "i'll be damned, there was fraud" some time 20 years in the future

a good friend used to say, some people are in love with process, some with results. trump is a results person, but, even the republicans who consider themselves his allies, are process people. that is why bill barr and durham probably don't feel they did anything wrong. it will be kind of like the court martialed civil war soldier, whose name is cleared 20 years after his grandson dies. justice is finally served (?)

there was never any evidence provided to any court..or the senate yesterday..seems that the senate would have been the best place to lay out any real evidence...but there was none..the only evidence in this thread is sidney powell?..who's lies were easily debunked..this is the evidence?

This will be my last response because it's pretty clear we'll never agree, but what you're posting doesn't even follow the basic rules of court.

When you file a suit like these, included is at least some of your evidence and findings. The process is to put this under a certain level of scrutiny to determine whether or not it is a case that can proceed based on merit. Overwhelmingly, the judges have determined that the cases put forth do not meet those requirements.

As for the 1,000 affidavits, by all accounts, they are full of people making essentially signed complaints. Things like "I wasn't allowed to get close enough to see the votes" or "I wasn't allowed to go in a room that I wanted to go into" or "I saw a guy carrying out a box from the room and when I asked to see inside, they told me to **** off." Of the claims that actually claim voter fraud, they cannot be verified or the source of information is not deemed trustworthy. Like I said, these affidavits are pretty much the same as the people who would swear they've seen big foot. While it's great they think they saw big foot, the reality is, they're not credible and they have no other physical evidence to backup their claims.

A lot of the Trump cases are not based on voter fraud. They're based on the legality of the changes made to the election process because of COVID-19. The arguments range from the verification of the mail in ballots, the verification of the dropped off ballots, whether they should have been allowed at all, and the timing of everything (for example, if a ballot was received after election day but mailed on election day or if a ballot was counted well after election day). Again, the vast majority of these cases have been dismissed, withdrawn, or denied.

The last point also is the basis of the case made by the Texas AG. Basically his argument was "Hey, we have rules in Texas we follow and other states followed different rules. How's that fair?" The answer is pretty simple: States run their elections and can determine how they want to do things. Texas has no right to tell Georgia how to run their elections. This was verified by the Supreme Court (including all of Trump's appointees). Alito and Thomas also agreed, but stated they would have allowed the case to be filed, but the results were a forgone conclusion.

In short, when you have a strong legal case, and you have money and power, you will not see the mass rejection by the courts like we've seen here. You can bring up left and right and liberal and conservative, but the reality is, these cases have been presented in front of Trump appointees more than once. They aren't interested because the case simply isn't good enough. You think they'd deny the President his day in court if there was a real case? That just doesn't make any amount of sense.

That's exactly the predicament. Ya see, this was not about biden vs trump, it was about America vs socialism. Regardless of what you thought of trump or biden....... the biden team is gonna turn this place upside down. Look at what they've done in the last 30 or so years. It's been slow, but they've been grooming this and obama was their first go-round. Biden is nothing more than a puppet. For whatever reasons, he'll be outta there or you'll see the most active VP in history. One or the other. They now have an actual foothold. All you people who voted for biden was just a vote for what's coming and personally, I think you're gonna be saying oh no, this isn't what we were promised..............................

As for those who don't think it was rigged.............. Never in our history was there ever 1/3 of the voted cast by mail-in. biden alone had 58% mail-in, while trump had about 32%. 4 years earlier a total was 33% was mail-in. How did one bumbling fool get almost 60% of his vote by people who can barely write their name, let alone get out and vote ?? Oh yeah, that's right, this pandemic played right into their hands for the excuse of 100's of thousands of mail-ins coming in at the last minute.

Whatever...... trump did not lose...... American lost and that's truly the bottom line no matter how you wanna color it.

I am old enough to remember the Viet Nam protests when the students would take over the university's main buildings and form a sit in for days. Now these same people are grown up and enjoy this type of thing. I enjoy the whole thing and watching Wolf Blitzer freaking out. There were no buildings set on fire, no looting and no one killed, but CNN thinks that is alright but this is "nonsense".
It is going to be an interesting four years with our new leaders. I have lived through stupid presidents before, but this new one is beyond stupid.

Don't forget that in areas that normally had a I think 6% rejection rate of mail in ballots, had a rejection rate of like .08% despite an increase of 780% mail in ballots. Sorry, that seems hinky to me.

Oh yeah, that's right, this pandemic played right into their hands

Of course, how could we forget this. Although as short of a memory as some people have, I wouldn't be surprised if they did. That would explain for a lot of pork that got injected into that one and the recent one for truly ridiculous things.

"Never let a crisis go to waste" you get to do things you would never get away with otherwise

then you manufacture a crisis by changing the reporting criteria (covid compared to the flu)
once biden is in charge, you switch the criteria back, and biden is a genius

the democrats have been protecting us from imaginary threats for close to 100 years (Hint: you are much less likelyl to get your ass kicked by an imaginary threat)

My dad remembers remembers when he got back from the Navy during that time.

Both my parents liken this to how it was in the 60s. I would say that we are probably going to have more of a '70s type of economy. But I'm speculating, time will tell.

Well, some have been in politics since the 70s at least. McConnell, Biden (I find it ironic that this is what his 3rd bid for the Presidency, I guess 3rd time is really the charm), Waters, Pelosi, even Trump is no spring chicken. When people spend 30-40 yrs in a "bubble" (not really Trump in this case, but the others), they get out of touch (and don't want to keep up with the times) and that's with anything (shoot, there are some 50 yr olds in here that don't want to bother learning new things and just keep on doing what they do, even though the landscape has changed around them). And there is no introspection, the public is wrong, the political class is correct.

Ya really wanna know ?? Go look it up for yourself. I already did my research. I don't write BS. Either believe it or don't and go away. Don't have time for silly requests. This is like the jerk that comes into your shop asking for prices, then questions each and every item in your quote. Just go peddle your wares somewhere else.

It was pences secret service that shot her. They were barricaded in a room - called out 4-5 times that if they breach the room they'll get shot - she breached it... She got shot.

It's sad. And maybe she wasn't dangerous.
But when you're protecting the president. Or vice president.. It doesn't matter if you're a 10 year old girl with a backpack breaching a room during a situation like this, you're going to get shot. Can't fault the SS for this.

Why is it that there is so much sensibleness in this thread (and calm discussion no matter the viewpoint), and so much idiocy on TV and among those who have been in power for decades? I think they are either trying to hoodwink the public (cue the conspiracy theory name-callers) or they are blind to the reality of what's going on, like the emperor with no clothes.

Watch the video and then tell me if what you posted is a true statement. Take note of where she is when she is shot.

Class of '68 is the term for that group that took the democrat party so far to the right.
they saw what was happening in france at the time (rioting, fires, etc ) and were not about to be outdone

david horowitz was a member of the SDS and then jumped ship and became a conservative. he wrote extensively about that movement, from the inside.
