I agree that it looks to be related to the media tunneling. Which in my experience has been just as much a media quality issue as a heat issue.... And certainly could be a combination of both. Can you duplicate that same issue on the 1005ezrs? With it fully taped up and temps in the 35 to 40...

I think your $80/hr is very fair for a freelance installer. He may be getting greedy, or is it possible he is not as seasoned as you think and it will take him 10-12 hours to do it? Either way, still not $1000 job.

In my experience Dibond routes better than alupanel or max metal, etc. Do you know if your scrap you used was actual Dibond? If you can try one of each and it might shed some light.
