Jack I see in a post that you use Corel for your deisgn work. Let me know if I can help you in any way with Corel Draw. I have been using it since version 3 in 1993. I currently run Corel Draw 2018.
I have been wanting to put this issue to bed for months now. Corel is supposed to answer within 6 hours from the chat, but this problem is likely to be at the coding level. Tech support was clueless and they have to research it.
Any designer knows that black vinyl on windows does not show up at all. That is basic knowledge. Make a sample black copy and white copy and put it on a window to demonstrate.
Regular orel Draw DOES draw to scale. Both Archiectural and engineering scale, and even metric scale. All Corel Designer adds is more traditional drafting tools. I do recommend it but most designers are clueless about rendering drawings in complicance with AMSE Y14 as they went to design school...

Greetings Sign people:

Who is a good vendor and their website?
Daktronics comes to mind but there may be others.
Since Corel Corp no makes a new release (version) once per year the subscription actually costs less than buying an upgrade DVD, which is the mistake I mad in upgrading to version 20 (2018) now version 21 (2019) is out....
I was forced to pay $200 to upgrade to version 20 by a client sign...
You folks, as business owners, must have issues with finding suitable people to work for you. It is fun to joke about the work ethics of millenials, but seriously folks, this is a help wanted ad for a business that needs a qualified graphics person.
Today's graphic potions in the sign industry...
If you export to PDF out of Corel, you can check the box under PDF/Settings to embed the fonts in the PDF file. There must be a way to do the same in Illustrator, but it may not be a default setting and users are not aware of it. Most folks just convert fonts to shapes or lines.
