Did you try Laird or Allied?
  3. Installing sign/frame to window mullions? Is it possible?

My thoughts.... Fab some U-channel brackets that slide over the mullions. Through-drill and tap the legs to allow for two 1/4 - 20 bolts on each side. Make the inside web about 1/4" wider than the mullions to allow for 1/16" rubber pads and .060" aluminum shims on each side (pads against the...

Bag 'em....it protects them and keeps them from sticking together.

  7. Rant 33"x127" Metal Sign Faces

Eastern Metal Supply carries it and they just opened a distribution center in Arlington.
  8. If somebody has not paid for a sign, do we have the right to go take it back?

Make an early morning run and overlay the sign with vinyl with a friendly 'Sign Covered Due to Non-Payment' message printed on it. Cheap, fast and effective. They in effect no longer have a sign, it's a bad reflection on them as a business which is a good motivator, and it can be removed after...
  9. Masking full-coverage frosted vinyl....

I appreciate the advice - I wasn't trying to sound unappreciative. But I've installed plenty of this and if someone can lay this perfectly smooth with the amount of tunneling this has, I would love to see it. All I know is I'm beyond buried with work and I don't give my time away. I expect...
  10. Masking full-coverage frosted vinyl....

I know how to install it. The problem is the tunneling. It won't install well as-is and I'm not going to sit there and peel the transfer tape off, slit the tunnels or anything else to try to 'make it work'. It sets a pretty undesirable precedent: you send jacked up material and I'll fix it for...
  11. Masking full-coverage frosted vinyl....

Appreciate the responses. I've installed a lot of this stuff. A LOT. I have NEVER had it given to me with masking on it - only by this one company. So here's the rest of the story.... The customer I'm installing this for is an out-of-state sign company. I've been installing for them here...
  12. Masking full-coverage frosted vinyl....

Exactly. This is precisely how I would do it.
  13. Masking full-coverage frosted vinyl....

Dusted Crystal vinyl was recently shipped to me from an out-of-state customer. It was for full coverage of exterior windows. Largest pieces were about 48"x48", then there were some smaller pieces about 30"x48". These are solid pieces with the exception of some small lettering on the largest...

  15. Where to get this square tubing frame

Glad Metal Supermarkets took care of you. Not busting your chops at all, but did the customer spec "Cardio Pulmonary" as two separate words? It's definitely one word....

  18. Christmas time is soon for me....

Yeah I gotchya....if you're not already into a battery platform, the link Texas posted is a good deal. The only glitch might be it's the older non-compliant dust box. The OSHA-compliant box is DWH302DH.
  19. Christmas time is soon for me....

Man if you won't use it a ton, just grab a 18v Ryobi. They're cheap and work fine.
  20. Christmas time is soon for me....

Maybe that's what I'm doing wrong....cutting my nose hairs. It all depends on the situation. You can't subject other people to the dust, so if you're drilling near anyone, it needs to be vacuumed. Also, you don't have to carry a separate vacuum, every major player offers onboard extractors...
