They are the two banks of them on the heatsinks to the left of the fuses. Fuses will blow if any one of the transistors is faulty to protect the head. Is why I mentioned rechecking fuses.
Sounds like a dead head or 2. Very little else to go wrong. SP300 and 540 are fairly robust and great machines.
Why I say recheck the fuses is because either one of them will blow as soon as you power the machine on, if it has a failed transistor.
Recheck the fuses.. Make sure ink has drawn right through the head. Swap cables over from MY head to CK head if the MY is printing. Let us know how ya go.
You will never pick up on a single nozzle with minute deflection as shown in the photo... You are not printing DOLLAR notes and having each one inspected under a microscope are you??
Tell the customer you are happy to supply the signage, but due to work commitments you are unable to erect the sign.
Suggest he outsource the fabrication and erection of the sign.
Have actually found 3rd party inks better than any of those, but rule of thumb is don't mix ink types.
Some dry faster than others. I just use the Ecosol cmyk profiles and adjust spot colors when needed.
Not electro, the print carriage locks and the cutter carriage then moves independently. If you watch closely, when you do a print, the carriages move back towards the control panel just slightly to unlock the print carriage.
Roland may not like it but this link is always helpful. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1077504/Roland-Sp-300.html
Or this https://www.manualslib.com/r/roland+sp-540v.html
Be careful when updating firmware..What are you actually trying to achieve.. If its for bulk inks etc, just get a set of permanent chips, it's a lot safer.
By all accounts, it sounds like you may have fried the heads. They are the next weakest link in the chain..Any cleaner or ink running down the cables onto the contacts is enough to fry them.
What did you actually touch that shorted the system enough for it to shut down altogether???
How about posting a few photos showing where you possibly touched the boards or printheads,
the location of fuses you have checked, and wipe the face of a head with a wipe to show ink is at the face of...
Are you repairing the printer for yourself or for a client?? These systems are fairly robust and parts are fairly expensive if you haven't got spares to cross test them with.
Printheads are $500usd each, carriage boards are $50usd, servo boards are $500usd and main boards are around $3000usd..
If you think you have definitely shorted the board out, recheck the 2 fuses or have someone check them for you..
Those boards are available
