Yes just do it with a syringe or you will end up with a timeout on your pump if you do too many clean cycles.
If you still have clamps off your dampers, yes suck fresh ink there..one clean cycle will flush the head
Have just been out and checked on 4 printers including rails and bearing on an sc545 and they all run 15mm bearings
Get one from here then https://www.sign-in-china.com/products/16024/roland_sj_640_xj_640_l_bearing_rail_block_ssr15xw1uu_2560ly_21895161.html
You only need a bearing, not a rail.. https://www.ebay.com/itm/THK-Linear-bearing-Rail-Block-for-Roland-RS-540-RS-640-SC-540-SC-540EX-SC-545EX-/253587456213
3M Gold and Oracle grey.. keep them in your pocket and not just thrown on the bench or in your box of tricks.
Same with felts and sleeves..keep them clean and you wont be doing reprints or repeats because of scratching.

You are currently 75cents in the dollar..We are 69.. But the best advice I can give you, is learn your printer and remember Google is your friend..Read your service manual from cover to cover so everything becomes second nature.
Find yourself a supplier other than OEMs so you have a second base...
