I don't give any customers credit. They pay when the order is placed , or they don't get the job done. If I was dealing with a huge company spending thousands a month regularly I may change this, but I don't have the time or effort to be constantly chasing accounts departments to get paid.
Parts are readily available for these. All the normal service parts are easy to get. There are sellers on Ebay who sell most of the other parts like boards, motors etc.. all the common things that fail.
As it has been over a month since you first had the problem, there isn't much chance of rescuing the head now, so it will need replacing. They are around $2000. You can fit them yourself if you have experience, but are better off getting a tech to do it, so probably around $3000 - $3500 for the...
There can be good money in doing restoration work. I have done quite a bit on vintage race bikes for museums and private collections. It can be fun as often all you get is a few badly angled grainy black and white pics from the 50s or 60s and have to work out what needs to go where. It's not...
I do agree that companies should have the right to protect their designs etc.. but it is a stupid situation when for restoring older vehicles they won't give permission for someone to recreate the logo, but can't actually supply it themselves.
It could also be a grey area as vehicle companies...
Just make sure Harley don't find out or they will sue you! I had a customer wanted a replica decal for his 50s bike, and Harley couldn't supply it. He contacted them and they said if anyone else made it for him, they would take legal action. Their solution was for him to put a modern, completely...
Do it properly and get the stripes painted on ! you can always use vinyl for the circles. The car is gorgeous, so don't ruin it by having something less than perfect for the stripes.
I dont think that is a font as the letters dont match each other. More likely it was just designed as a logo, so there are no other letters. What name does he want as you could probably hand draw it and then scan it in and vectorise it
If you hear a leak around the captop it could be air getting drawn through the head instead of ink maybe? Black ink lines can be hard to tell if they are old if there is air in them
That is very strange that it would only effect that. It does sound like maybe the head strike bent something, but its strange it was working fine after that. Is it definitely leaking around the captop? Am wondering if air is getting in somewhere further back along the ink line, so when the...
I would check the bolts that hold the print head carriage to the bearing blocks behind and make sure the carriage isnt loose or has shifted at all. It could be the heads arent laying quite parallel with the cap tops. Also check the plastic plate that the head fits to is securely screwed down...
At least once you have a known good cutting head you are starting from a good position and can then make any tweaks from there. The problem with trying to chase problems is if the existing part has a fault it is often hard to find out why it isn't working properly
On the few occasions I get people asking for pantone colours or paint codes, I explain that exact colour matching isn't always possible because of the way CMYK inks work but we should be able to get fairly close. They have always said 'oh yeah thats fine then, I didn't need the exact colour' !!!
It is more likely to be the cut carriage than the board. The boards tend to either work or not.
I have tested used heads in stock if you need one,. and can send worldwide and take payment with paypal. Feel free to DM me if you are interested :)
