I work at a place with a very old but very awesome Roland XC-540 that's been having some issues. We're located in a rural community 5 hours from the nearest city so getting a tech out here to work on our printers is rare and can be expensive. With that said, I am not a mechanic. If it's not in...
That's a little deeper into the modes than I've been. We do have a tech coming out here in two weeks. I'm going to start a new thread that includes this next question but figured I should leave it here too.:
We're in a rural community that's a several hour drive away from the nearest tech. So...
I did, moved to cap position, hit enter, Then it says: Setting Up The Limit. I hit enter, and it goes right to SCAN MOTOR ERROR 0010. If I remember right, when things are working, this is when would separate the carriages?
Ok Sooo,
Lubricated the rail and replaced the scan motor. replacing the motor got us past the error, and it seemed ok for a minute. printed a couple things, but then the carriages separated mid print. this happened a bunch of times. The printer would fire up, start printing, and then lose its...
Having a hard time separating the carriages They don't want to come apart! But I notice when the machine is turned off I can move the carriage easily by hand, but when the printer is on, there's a lot of resistance when you push the carriage
Our old Roland XC-540 is giving an error notification every time I hit setup. SCAN MOTOR ERROR CODE: 0080 0080.
Tried a limit initialization. No changes. I tried to slide the carriage across with my hand, and while I could move it, it feels like there's way more resistance than usual.
Any...
Looks like Jim has the answer to your issue, but as far as your general question:
I do a manual head cleaning once a week.
At the beginning of every day of printing, I do a test print to check the heads. If There's any dots missing, I'll have the machine do a regular cleaning.
We have an old but very great Roland SolJet XC-540. There's a spot on the printer about about 12" in. Whenever the carriage passes over this spot, the blade toggles up and down a couple times. It isn't dragging over the print or messing up the ink while printing, but it goes up and down, so...
Ok I'm sick of my colors not popping the way they should. Does anyone have some tips or links for building or getting great profiles? I need some "for dummies" type step by step type stuff for this. I print all day, but don't know much at all about level adjustments or quality settings, or how...
Thanks everyone who shared! This has been an incredibly helpful thread. I've since downloaded a bunch of ICC profiles specific to the media we print on. They're great but there's a few things I still haven't figured out. I'll ask these questions in a new thread, but thought I'd drop them here...
You can drag multiple files into Versaworks 6?
I just switched over to Versaworks 6, and still can only import files to the queue one at a time. Is that some default setting I can switch off?
I was just gifted two unused 54" rolls of Micro Perf. There's no markings or branding anywhere on the tubes, but I was told one is for vehicle windows and the other is for storefront windows. The holes on one roll are slightly bigger than the other. Do you know which is which?
Thanks
Yeah, can't drag and drop into the queue. And when doing File > add to queue, you can't select more than one file at a time. This is the default setting for dual. maybe theres a btton somewhere to disable this, but if it exists, I haven't found it. Just found out i can download VersaWorks 6 and...
Thanks! really appreciate it. New cap tops are on the way. I do a manual cleaning minimum once a week. It's so weird the way a whole print will look good except the green or grey will be banded. Maybe when we switch to the new truevis ink it will be better? sitting on five of each color of...
We "upgraded" to a Truevis VG-540 and it's been nothing but trouble for over a year. problems are just intermittent enough to keep from pulling the plug on it.
"Upgraded" printers and the new one uses Dual, as opposed to the old machine that worked on VersaWorks. on the old one, you could select as many files as you like and drag them directly into the queue. But with VersaWorks Dual, you can't drag any files into the queue. you need to select FILE...
Good Morning,
Do you use a different profile for each type of media you print on?
Do you have any across-the-board profile types you recommend for optimal printing?
Could different profiles be the answer to color specific banding?
Have you found that generic (or random) profiles deliver...
I'm not very comfortable performing maintenance on the machine outside what's in the user manual. We're in a rural community 5 hours from the nearest distributor, so having a tech come help with stuff is too expensive. Does anybody have a link to a ho- to video for changing an encoder strip? Or...
