  1. Printing prices

Thanks for the suggestion. I haven't used or updated that spreadsheet in over 10 years. I know it is a mess. I was learning Excel at home and busy as a one-legged man in... when I created it. I know it's not very streamlined. I was trying to get as much function as possible with my limited...
  2. Printing prices

I don't because I'm a group of one. Once the numbers are in a quote or email, I'm locked in. You could require the person quoting it to print it out. Save as never really works because half the time I accidentally hit save. None of the real calculations are visible. I have used it in an...
  3. Improve your listening skills with one-to-one coaching/training.

Robert, two items I would like to explore with you: First, which part of my comment did you like the most? And if you would, explain why. Second, is there anything you disagree with?
  4. Printing prices

Yes but I guarantee you these have to be in writing, and if not they should. If they provide you with a clear concise list you can crunch the number in a spreadsheet and have accurate numbers emailed to the client in a few minutes. 95 percent of the time I get an email and have to dig through 20...
  5. Improve your listening skills with one-to-one coaching/training.

Yes, you are correct, it all starts with listening. It's an important part of the process. Reading non-verbal cues and between the lines (drawing the correct conclusion quickly), knowing what questions to ask, and what you are talking about are high on the list as well. All in all, it comes down...

  8. Printing prices

The only ones who need immediate pricing are usually tire kickers. If they won't spend the time to give you all the necessary information for a proper quote, they get the ballpark pricing and they are informed on what will affect the pricing. Quotes like the one mentioned usually have a set of...
  9. Printing prices

Why does everyone feel the need to give an exact price immediately? Unless you want to be the lowest in town and on the internet, you won't hear from them again. Give them a reasonable ballpark that depends on the materials they choose, if and how art is provided, and the actual sqft printed...
  10. Wrapping a Sprinter van

I'm guessing that it has a ghost from where the previous logos were. Instead of painting, they can try polishing and buffing the vehicle. A lot of times the ghost is from the graphics protecting the clear coat so it is glossy and the rest of the paint is a satin finish. Have them ask a detailer...
  11. Font Help Anyone recognize this font?

The Find my Font program is pure genius. In the time it takes you to post a pic and ask the question, it can find it for you.
  12. Need Help File corrupt

After a reboot, click on the window icon and in the search windows and programs area type %temp% and hit enter. Click on the folder labeled temp and delete everything it will let you. These are temporary files that sometimes get left behind. The ones you can't delete are being used by open programs.

My guess is dragging a fiber as well. It turns up at the end because the media is advancing after it finishes printing.
  15. Suggestions how do I remove old cracked vinyl wrap

That is so ineffective compared to an MBX Electric Vinyl Zapper. I know an MBX isn't cheap but when you need one they are worth it, and on that hood alone you could save a couple of hours in labor compared to the drill attachments. Other factors; it's uncomfortable holding the drill for long...
  16. Conspicuity chevron CMYK colors

You need to meet minimum reflectivity requirements and printing on engineered grade reflective might not achieve that. We always bought them and the prismatic ones are outrageously expensive. REFLECTIVE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE Click to see our Reflective Pre-Made Chevron...
  17. Suggestions how do I remove old cracked vinyl wrap

No matter what you charge it won't be worth it and there is bound to be some damage to the paint. I would leave it to the competition. Let them get bogged with 40 to 60 hours of labor and potential liability while you do something fun and profitable. Those are lose-lose jobs.
  18. contaminated nozzle check

Sometimes the sponges in the capping station swell and touch the head. When this happens you get cross-contamination.
