  1. Install Signs Level and Perpendicular on Clapboard Siding

Assuming you're talking about panels of some sort, have you considered using a frame out of 1" square aluminum tube? The vertical ends could span the siding which would keep the sign plumb. Mount the frame, mount the sign to the frame. Should be pretty easy.
  2. A couple of ACM jobs...

A couple of the signs from a 12-hour day of installs earlier this week. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGSIdsX-mUE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O805PfrvNjA

  4. Stuff you've found while installing

Yikes...at least they (hopefully) didn't try to pin it on him. From my understanding, if you damage a fiber optic line and didn't call for a locate, the minimum fine is in the neighborhood of $45k. It can't be patched, so it generally has to be replaced from the origin to wherever it terminates.
  5. Stuff you've found while installing

Sprinkler lines, chunks of concrete, tree roots....:frustrated:
  6. uShip - The only way to ship your Large Format Printer!

Uship is great. I'm pretty sure they're owned by eBay. I could be wrong. I shipped a 6.0l from Dallas to Idaho for a smidge over $400. Just give them time to bid on it. My first bid was for around $700, which I thought was a great price. A day or two later, it was down to just above $400.

  11. Best drill bit for acrylic and polycarbonate?

I would wager to say most of the folks in this thread that have posted or are interested in the subject, drill holes in 1/4" or 3/8" acrylic. That's the typical application I need the bits for. I use the Harbor Freight one in the attached photo on the right. It will drill through 1/4" acrylic...
  12. Best drill bit for acrylic and polycarbonate?

Performing the task 'effectively' was implied, but I included it above so it's official. I've never had the scuff marks, regardless of which bit I've used. But I also clean away the debris as I go.
  13. Best drill bit for acrylic and polycarbonate?

A proper tool is whatever performs the task. I've never had the step bits wander or leave scuffs (??). They work great. They also ease their way through due to the stepped sizes, rather than trying to take out all of the material at once. And they never bind. And they're really inexpensive.
  14. Best drill bit for acrylic and polycarbonate?

The cheapie step bits from Harbor Freight work really well.
  15. Mortgage Lending Logo

Not trying to be a jerk, but this is the first thing that popped in my head:
  16. Mounting Aluminum Sign

Upsell it to the customer as a nicer sign with more dimension for the same cost....? :)
  17. Mounting Aluminum Sign

    I would do this. ^
  18. Installing Large Sign Faces

Yes to the C clamps and 2x4. Also helpful is a couple of hangers off the front of the basket made out of 2x4's. Build 'hooks' at the bottom that the face can rest in.
  19. Mounting metal letters to marble/stone wall

The "YOU ASKED FOR IT, YOU GOT IT" letters were about an 1/8" or 3/16" stroke.
