Both of those are "OK" looking. I would also recommend a solvent printer, running a quality mode (not high speed). UV is not what you want for wraps at all and Latex isn't that great on small details.
I would also recommend using 3M IJ480mc for the vinyl paired with the matching 3M laminate...
Our Epson printers are workhorses here. We run about 3 rolls per day, every day, on ours. No major issues on the 60600 series. Had a few manifolds blow after a few years on the older 70 series and eventually one motherboard died on one of them also but otherwise they're still running great with...
Epson s60600. Super fast, repeat-ability all day long. We are a wrap/mural shop mainly so panel to panel consistency is key. They load lightning fast, basically clean their selves and get going immediately (no warm-up). You can laminate next day no worries and same day in emergencies. I do NOT...
Is it just solid color vinyl striping? We have a slitter here that does a great job of getting straight rolls out of a log. After cutting/slitting the rolls it should be easy to chop off in 30" sections.
It looks like we're getting a bit off-topic, but I'l throw my opinion in now also.
I recommend the Epson also, a 40600 if you have low volume (like OP mentioned) or a 60600 if you have a higher volume or anticipate it. The speed is awesome, and color and consistency are also excellent.
We are 3M...
The Gerber LexEdge is a Lexan product, so it is scratch-proof. It is used on many different applications, but our customers like to use if for machinery faceplates, dash panels, etc and other places where constant repeated use would take a toll on regular decals.
Same issue occasionally here on a 60600. Thought we had the issue fixed when we ran new wires and replaced the switch, but it started again a week later. We get it about once a week, but never have to restart anything. The print just drops out of the que and the printer rolls on fine with the...
What material, what type of wall?
Have you tested the paint for adhesion?
Putting 480 on a painted cinderblock wall is going to take all day (or longer) with 2 installers and putting phototex onto painted drywall is going to take 1/2 day with 1 guy.
Never seen this before, but I have seen residue from window perf that only wanted to come off with window cleaner, not rapidtac.
So if there is possibly something, run by the dollar store and grab a bottle of each.
Get an EyeOne or other reader and get going making your own profiles.
We use 1 profile per printer pass setting, whether it is gloss/matte/3M/Arlon/etc to keep everything as simple as possible.
The only thing that is really different is the number of passes and the media height on the printer.
Buy the "maintenance agreement" every year and it includes all upgrades/patches throughout that time period. It also includes customer support for issues like you're currently having. The newest version doesn't do any real improvements besides speed things up a little bit. Keeping your ques...
Ebay/craigslist is going to be your best bet. Getting a printhead replaced is about 3X as expensive as buying a used printer and flying out to buy it and renting a car to drive it home in.
We ran JV3 printers here for over 10 years, and when we decided to make the switch we researched everything out there and went with Epson. Same onyx RIP, a couple good profiles and you're off. No issues, pretty much cleans itself, and prints beautifully. You'll be amazed once you switch at how...
There is one "connection" on my road that everyone is sharing (at full price) through only one line's bandwidth.
So, all 15 of the homes share what one home should have access to and they all pay regular price.
I figured that out when I "subscribed" and didn't even have dial-up speeds and then...
