Try replacing all at the same time and see if anything changes and if it fixes it then remove one by one until the issue comes back and that should show which part is the troublesome part.
Maybe try replacing the cables to the print carriage board and the print carriage board and if that doesn't do anything, try as damon suggested and maybe try replacing both the main board and servo board at the same time.
Just confirming that you replace the cable that goes from the mainboard to the servo board with a brand new cable? Also by swap, do you mean you used an old board?
Okay, this might be a stupid question, but why don't you both print and cut on the SP-540V, as it is a Printer/cutter? It looks like you have a solution for the current want, but was curious.
Exactly. I get a lot of my wear and tear parts from them on a usual basis and have only had minor issues once, but that's the gamble you take going cheaper, however, with the SP-300V's, not many places carry parts anymore. I even buy some of my parts for our newer machines from them, but there...
No Aliexpress, a.k.a. Alibaba. We buy our SP-300V heads (I believe DX5) from Sign-in-china and have always been happy with the results, been doing it for about 10 years.
From personal experience, I'd say stay away, as we received a damage one and they refused to help us with an exchange and would only give a small refund, far from what we paid. It might suck to pay the proper higher price, but the quality and peace of mind is worth the extra cost from the dealer...
I'm actually currently having a very similar issue with my SG-300. I've tracked it down to the pump for the black/yellow head. You could try opening the panel and trick the sensor and watch if it's pulling properly, if not, swap the lines with another pump and see if it works better.
If the cap top doesn't resolve the issue, then you may need a new head, but the cap top is the cheapest option and should be tried first, especially if it hasn't been changed in a while.
As Joseph has mentioned if you're having a clunking noise while it moves, there is a good chance it is the scan motor. You could try the limit initialization to see if that helps too. However, it does sound like a new scan motor is need, especially if it hasn't been replaced in a long time.
I could be wrong, but when I've had this happen in the past and it's happened a couple of times over the years, it turned out to be a tiny crack in the manifold where the dampers connect to the head. Depending how old the manifolds are, there could be tiny cracks. Might also be good to change...
That sounds like the thermistor has gone, as the printer isn't able to heat up to the appropriate temp.
*Edit: The above would be your cheapest option. If that doesn't fix, it means the heating element is gone. You'll have to check the heat settings to find out if it's print heater or the dryer...
Have you adjusted the heat settings for whatever order you're currently printing? Has the temperature dropped in your shop recently? Both our SP-300V's do this and it usually takes no longer then a few minutes, depending how warm they need to go. If you haven't adjusted anything and it's no...
No, don't buy from them. If you have any issues, they'll just blame you and not help at all. Know many others that haven't had a very good experience with them either. Although it would be nice to say buy one from your local dealer, as this is a printer is at end of life, it's getting harder and...
Yes, I believe so. As far as I know, they use the same heads as our SP-300V's. To answer your second question, it is possible to change yourself if you feel comfortable and have some experience doing stuff like that. I would recommend getting your hands on a service manual, as it will walk you...
