According to my tech, you're suppose to shake them once a week, gently rocking it back and forth in the trays, then re-insert them into the machine. This use to effect our color output on our SG-300, the colours would change over time and from pouch to pouch. Since I started gently rocking them...
If it's from DIGIPRINT, it's most likely 3rd party and not OEM. Especially if it's in that kit, they are all 3rd party parts, at least all the ones I've bought in the past from them for our printers.
Not that this is the solution, but have you replaced the pumps. It doesn't sound like the problem, as it really sounds like the damper, cap top or air in the lines, however, you've already replaced those parts.
As the BN-20 is the low end model, it is even less suited for printing magnetic media. I still wouldn't recommend doing it with the more production style models either. We did try a while back on our SP-300V and VS-300i and it didn't work out great, even using the manufacturers recommended...
What model are you using? YOu could try pulling ink with a syringe from the line after the cap top to see if it helps any. After the pulling, do a regular cleaning and do a new test print and see if you have any more nozzles firing.
Unfortunately with these kind of printers, they cannot sit un plugged with ink in them for long, otherwise they dry up and ruin the head. You could try a 48 hour head soak. You'll need to clamp off the line after the cap top and fill the cap top with cleaning liquid and top it up after 24 hours...
Not a guaranteed fix, but worked for my VS-300i. I inserted cleaning cartridges into all the slots and left it to sit over the weekend and it helped break it up and I was able to push it out that Monday morning and all was back up and running. Hopefully it will help.
2 questions, have you cleaned the lines out and tried with OEM inks, just to rule out the inks? Also, what media are you using, is it compatible with the inks / Printer?
I'm not familiar enough with Mutoh to tell you that. It could still be an issue with the cap top not sealing either if you're not getting proper suction and aren't able to pull ink through.
