You have to make sure that "Convert Spot Color" is checked on the File Format tab of the plotter defaults for the spot colors to work. You also have to have the chart printed on the same material that you're using for production and finally make sure that you're using the same profile that is...
Are there pets in your shop? Or are you losing your hair? I see hairs from people/animals cause this quite often as well. Pretty much any fiber that hangs on the bottom of the printhead will wick ink away from a nozzle or two and cause these drips.
Good Luck
I measure it this way...
Cut about 4 inches off of a 54" roll of vinyl. Make a loop at one end large enough to go over an empty core and mount the core on your roll holder. Feed the other end up through the printer near the control panel end and mark where it crosses the edge of the platen...
Unfortunately, I think this is just a lazy tech answer. We have quite a few customers that primarily print on reflective and only do street/highway signage and have no problems. Also, most of them are using the manual load as the sensor rarely measures correctly. When I train them I just tell...
If I take my truck into the dealership because it isn't running right, they charge me to look at it. I don't remember what it was last time, but probably around $75.
If you don't want to pay for expert advice, why don't you post the symptoms here rather than complain about someone else's...
First off, you need to wait till your ink is dry before scanning. If that takes too long, you need to revisit the ink restrictions and ink limits or possibly your printer temperature settings.
The software will make the swatches that the device calls for. What spectro are you using? Do you...
The printer is designed for one size of roller. The outter rollers are tapered and should be installed with the dot to the outside. The inner rollers are flat, so there is no orientation issue there. Get new rollers, clean the grit wheels and load a roll of media.
Here's how I test this -...
We sell to a lot of window tint shops and have good luck with Graphtecs - both CE and FC Roll series. The only thing they cut for the most part is window tint or paint protection film. They do it all day long and it's second nature to them much like cutting decals is for most of us here.
On Gerber plotters, I always do initial troubleshooting with Gerber 220 vinyl. What vinyl are you using? If it's Gerber vinyl, compare the punch pattern with an older roll to make sure that the holes are lined up properly. Every now and then a roll will get punched incorrectly. Also, measure...
I agree with Jim. When I was doing a lot of profiles in Flexi for Roland printers, I found myself always increasing magenta by 5 or 10% more than what I would initially think it would be. This gave me good reds out of any Roland printer with Flexi. And as Jim said, if you bump those up...
Have you cut window tint before? It does not handle like vinyl at all. We sell special blades just for window tint. It also needs to be cut unidirectional and any pinch wheels in the middle will leave tracks. You should ask for a sample to test on before either of you commit to this.
Good...
I think the key points above are:
Use as little heat as possible
Use as little pressure as possible
and
Use as little craft paper as possible.
Too much heat will soften the laminate making it easier to wrinkle.
Too much pressure will pull the center of the print faster than the outside edges...
On a network without a router, and no other internet connection (wireless or whatever) you don't need DHCP functioning. You can just assign static addresses to every device on the network.
Most large format printers that I'm familiar with all use static addresses. Just make sure that you're...
