I don't think it's the printhead, as I've had 2 heads in my printer and both always did it from the time I bought it new. I just learned to live with it, but if my work around isn't working for you, not even a little, our issues may be different even though they seem the same.

I'm not familiar with your printer or with using Flexi, but was wondering if you have played around with the color profile settings (If there are any), I know in Versa Works you can do different color presets, some will give you brighter more vibrant color and some will give you darker, faded, etc.

I would explain to them how if they don't remove the old one, the new one won't last very long. Maybe offer them a discount to do it, if you think it's worth it.

My best suggestion is see what is currently on the market and the prices their asking in your local area. The VG2 is still a newer model, some dealers are even still selling new ones, as the VG3's only came out a few months ago. She should be able to still get a good price as long as the machine...

As it's been mentioned, typically what you're describing is due to blown fuses, but if they are currently not blown and you're certain the cables are in the proper order and connected correctly and still have no print, it could be that you fried the head, but the only way I've seen that happen...

I have a VS-300i and have the same issue with getting pinkish colors, therefore what I have done is I remove some magenta in the color settings in Versa Works, for me I find -3 Magenta works well, might be different for you.

Does it look like there's ink the the dampers and lines?

Did you check the fuses on the main board to make sure they didn't blow?

Depending on how much you use the machine, they are rated 6 months, but I've gotten up to 2 years on OEM's, 3rd party max 6 months.

You'll need to give more context then that, but based on what I see, it's probably 1 of 3 things or a combination of the 3, either needs new cap tops, dampers or head.

As mentioned earlier I would probably change the dampers, as they could be going and that is what is allowing magenta to go into the yellow damper, but if you don't currently have them, then using a syringe on the line after the cap top and pulling the ink through should help get you buy until...

2 options I'd try would be do a 48 hour head soak and then do a powerful cleaning and a couple mediums and see if that helps and the second is replace the cap top, I've had a couple defective cap tops for my VS-300i over the years.

I'm not sure about the heads, but if it was on the printer before and was working, then I couldn't see why it wouldn't, you just need to make sure you change the rank #.

Cap tops are usually rated about 6 months, but as mentioned, I don't think it's the major problem, that head shouldn't be dripping, the only things I'm aware that can cause that are a head strike/damage or in very rare instances the seals on the dampers failed. But once you replace the cap top...

How old is the cap top? The cap top wouldn't cause the dripping, that is most likely from a head strike, but it could affect pulling of the inks.
