  1. Boat wrap

The other thing to consider is the curve of the boat. What looks like a straight edge really isn't. Your print might look curved, etc. if you make it straight, you may need to build an arch into it.
  2. Help A Loyal Employee

When I clicked the link, my son was logged in, so we both "liked" it :wink:
  3. Pricing and is oracle 751 necessary

First you need to figure out your shop rate (rent, electricity, insurance, etc etc) SignCraft sends a three-tiered pricing guide with their magazine subscription, and it has a varying shop rate say if you are just starting out cutting stickers, or are a wrap installer, or do high-end custom...
  4. This ever happen.................... ??

They probably shopped your price all over town for the last 3 months and found someone on Craigslist to do it on the cheap. Love....Jill
  5. how is business?

My business has been utterly dead for about 3 years. Last year I had a profit of $3K. Working from home-based, no employees. That is why I decided to quit doing vinyl completely, return to logo design, wholesale design, and murals, and small painted signs only, and make signs be my hobby...
  6. Before & After

Much, much better. You took a pile of crap and turned it into something appealing. Love....Jill
  7. Just gotta rant...

Re-visiting this rant to add: I got that CheetahWraps postcard the other day in the mail, their logo looks like the 9th circle of hell. Also, I stopped doing coro and vinyl last year. I hate it, and no matter what, it is never cheap enough for the customer. I have turned down maybe $2K of...
  8. It's not the cover of the Rolling Stone

Congratulations. It's always a nice feather in your cap to get featured in a trade magazine! Love....Jill
  9. Sign I just did!

I would have made a thicker green border all the way to the edges, and had the address in white at the bottom, in the border. It just looks unfinished to me. But at least it's not cluttered up with ugly effects and fills. Love....Jill
  10. Close to real gold paint?

I know it's old. This was before I tried NovaColours. They have some really nice metallics. I think either Nova or Ronan would require double coating over a dark background. I would not recommend 1S.
  11. New vehicle wrap shop in Bucks County PA

OK, and I won't trust my designs to a wrap guy. Deal. :omg:
  12. Just gotta rant...

I so do not miss having a sign phone, and walk-in tire kickers. I do what I do, I charge what I charge, after 30 years I am not giving away something for nothing. Signs are just a hobby for me these days. Love....jill
  13. Logo…thoughts please!

Good thinking! I like any of those, I love putting the name in the bubble because it looks like people are talking about the company.
  14. Treated 4x4 with post sleeves

I have a "real job" working for a fence company. We ship 4"x4" PVC posts all over the US and Canada. https://www.pennfence.com/vinyl/post-sleeve-c253 We have really good prices and they are made in the USA. For fences, posts do not require any wooden insert but go directly into the ground...
  15. Shop logo attempt

Thank you for the kind words. I try to do the paid subscription thing always, but this year times were harder than usual. Now that I am back to my real job (after a winter lay-off and denied unemployment yada yada) I will re-up ASAP. Rick, I am so glad that I inspired you, because you have...
  16. Logo…thoughts please!

This "return to the 70s" stuff jars me, because it reminds me of how old I am. But it was a clean, dynamic style for the most part, and deserves to be revisited. Your original concept was OK, I didn't like the name, just like everyone else. Your stripped down version was OK too, but lacked...
  17. One for fun and exercise...

Sweet! John Jordan liked that technique, and tried to show me. But your illustration is easier for me to understand. I have a scrap that is crying out to be a tattoo sign, and I will give it a shot. Love....Jill
  18. Shop logo attempt

...that was exactly my intent :D thanks!
  19. Newly completed project

It did turn out really nice , but I agree with Bob that something about the arrows bugs me. But with the one line having two arrows, I can see why you did it that way. Good job. Love....Jill
  20. I will not be getting my waxing (or my nails) done here.

"I have a lit sign , can you peel off the old letters and re-use it?" Sign Guy : "That will be $500" "What about if I peel off the old letters?" Sign Guy: $400 "What about if I just buy the letters from you and stick them on myself? It can't be that hard." Sign Guy: $250 "OK, thanks. I'll...
