You could probably paint it with just about any paint if it is interior use. Unless you use some really exotic paint, I doubt you'll have problems with the ink not sticking if that's what you're worried about.

We switched from Mutoh to Epson SC80600 printers. Those printers have orange & red inks, so they can do awesome reds & oranges (of course!) So, if you really want bright reds, look for a printer with red or orange inks. I think there are a few besides Epson that offer those colors.

I just measured our CET, and it has a max head height of a bit over 4 1/16". That gives clearance for a 4" part plus a 1/16" head gap.

CET, Vanguard Digital, and Flora are a few manufacturers off the top of my head that make 4x8 flatbeds with 4" capability. We have a CET 5x10 that we like.

Going by your description of "White_INVERSE", I think you'll end up with the exact opposite of what you are getting now - white ink only where there is no color ink. It looks like "Bounding Box" is your best bet out of the options you list, without creating a spot color.

What white ink print options do you have? Our CET has a number of options, but the relevant options here are "Middle Layer" and "Middle Layer of Image". Basically, "Middle Layer" prints color/white/color with white behind the entire print job area - even margins, cutter registration marks, etc...
