  1. Is their a program available to set these up automatically?

It's called a word cloud. I have used tagxedo.com in the past, but it requires Silverlight and does not output vector artwork. It can multiple fonts from your own computer, though, which was what I needed for my application. Also, www.jasondavies.com/wordcloud/ will create vector word clouds...
  2. Printing PhotoTex on Epson S80600

    Sorry, it's Onyx GamaPrint 12
  3. Printing PhotoTex on Epson S80600

Anyone? I would try creating my own profile, but I don't think GamaPrint has that capability...
  4. Printing PhotoTex on Epson S80600

Anyone have tips for printing PhotoTex on a S80600? Profiles, temp, etc? I can't find any profiles on the PhotoTex website specifically for the S80600. We tried printing on the IJ180 profile, but the burgundy/red color we were trying to hit (Pantone 7624C) came out too light.
  5. HELP! I'm Pulling my hair out trying to fix this overspray issue on my FB700

What media are you using? I've seen almost the exact same thing with my printer when printing on the textured surface of foamed PVC. My theory is that the texture catches the ink droplets differently and makes it look mis-aligned. Try your calibration on a smooth substrate such as vinyl and see...
  6. Alternative part name

How often do you have to replace reflectors? How old is your machine? We have a Q5-1000, and due to first a failed fan and then a failed shutter, we had to replace the entire UV lamp assembly. CET doesn't part out the assembly any farther than the UV lamp holder assembly (including reflector...
  7. Not sign related but could use some advice

Best thing would be a cable (make sure it's an outdoor rated one). Next best would be something like this: Ubiquiti Nanostation Loco M2. Get 2 of them and set up a wireless bridge. We use similar products for our LED boards. For best results, they need to be line of sight with no obstructions...
  8. UV ink printing on corregated yard sign material

I think they came out with the G2 inks soon after we got our printer, but we never switched to them because the gamut was less. I would have researched 3rd party inks, but soon after I started, we began talking about getting a new printer. We ended up getting a CET Q5, and their ink adheres to...
  9. UV ink printing on corregated yard sign material

FWIW, they told us the G5 inks wouldn't work in our M4f, which has the same KM512 heads as the Mv. Our adhesion was so bad, that the black background on some yard signs totally flaked off after about 2 months of weekend use only.

  11. CET, Gerber, Roland Flatbed Question

But it's probably not significantly better in terms of price. We haven't maxed out our printer yet as far as usage, and we can still add another 3 heads to double the speed when that time comes. That's one of the reasons we chose CET because of the upgradeability. If you get a...
  12. CET, Gerber, Roland Flatbed Question

We have a CET Q5-1000 flatbed with 3 heads (KC+MY+WW), and overall I am happy with it. We run our printer with humidity 35-50% with no problems. The ink is sensitive to static, though, so we ended up getting the static eliminator bars which takes care of a lot of issues. At production speed, it...
  13. CET Series 96 - Formulation change?????

I have not had problems with the 96 series ink. They did re-formulate the cyan & magenta ink back in October or November of last year to fix curing problems with light coverage, but that isn't the problem you're experiencing. And if it just started, I doubt the re-formulated inks are causing it...
  14. Entry level digital cutter/router?

Is used equipment an option? We purchased our Esko i-XL24 from GlobalGarage.com. Currently, there is an i-XL24 with a router, tools, and a conveyor system listed for $45k. That's cheaper and with more options than the one we bought...
  15. Coroplast "banner" on box truck

That's what I was leaning toward. Also, the overall dimensions of the box are roughly 6.5'x12', so a single 5x10 piece of coro would cover most of the sides, leaving a 6"-8" margin. I don't really want to recommend multiple panels.
  16. Coroplast "banner" on box truck

So one of our customers has a small Transit box truck (12') that they want to have some type of changeable display. They would prefer some type of paneled system using coroplast instead of a banner. Is there any system that exists for something like this? The closest I've found is a snap-frame...
  17. UV flatbed printing on wood substrate

I have printed plaques made of old barn boards painted white, and they were so warped there was over 1/4" height difference between the highest and lowest spots. I have a CET flatbed, which can automatically measure the height of the substrate. What I did was move the board around on the...
  18. Flatbed Printer Advice

I have printed plaques made of old barn boards, and they were so warped there was over 1/4" height difference between the highest and lowest spots. I have a CET flatbed, which can automatically measure the height of the substrate. What I did was move the board around on the table so the height...
  19. CET 1000Q New Print Heads Clogged

99% Isopropyl Alcohol. At $29/gallon from Uline, it's cheaper than the CET flush by quite a lot! I've never used it to flush heads, though. I just use it for general cleaning purposes. Here's what I use: http://www.uline.com/Product/Detail/S-17475/First-Aid/99-Isopropyl-Alcohol-1-Gallon-Bottle
  20. Direct printed ACM print coming up with laminate

Try changing your substrate. I've had good adhesion using MaxMetal DP & Duratex Alumaboard Fast. I did not try digital Alupanel, but that's another option you may want to look in to.
