Surely you are not suggesting that it is possible to print every colour avaiable using a CMYK printer?
I truly think you are misguided or have been very very lucky or have the rest of us been doing it wrong all along?
The issue is I have found is their are a few different variations for CMYK...
I have been setting the colour as LAB and have come across about 4 different variations and all still have the dirty yellow look.
It doesn't matter how little or big you adjust it, this colour is a very difficult one to even come close.

I personally do not get into colour matching as I believe you are always chasing your tail trying to match some colours with only a four colour pallete.
What spectro are you using as I am thinking of purchasing one?

I also reckon that is a material issue.
Banner material is not particularly well manufactured and I have come across varying defects in some rolls.
I don't think quality control is a high priority in such a cheap substrate.
Mind you last year we had faults and contamination in 3Ms IJ180 on a...
This one I think will be impossible with a CMYK printer.
The shade is right it is just missing brightness.
I have spent another 2 hours this morning trying to get it better but no matter what I change or profile I use it is not right.

We have a Mutoh Valuejet and I am trouble hitting, or even coming close to a yellow colour.
It is a colour based on Oracals 651 range of vinyl.
Oracal ref 020
RAL 1033
HKS 5
I have played around loads and just can't get it to look as bright.
Does anyone have a RGB or CYMK reference that has...
More than likely the cap inner is touching the print head and making it wick the ink through the head.
If I remember the black and magenta are on the same head so this is probably the issue.

Oh dear scale drawings.
I had a headache with the local planning last year who ended up being absolutely useless.
I would send them a scale drawing and then they would print it smaller on their A4 printer and could not understand why it was was not scaling up to the correct size.
Scream.... it...

This could be a F2 fuse blown on the main board.
If this fuse blows it will not print.
The fuse blows to protect the main board and is normally caused by a fault in the head or head cable.
It's a fiddly job but is DIY-able as the fuse is soldered to the board and is very very small.

Yes I read that correctly Wayne but it still confused me which one was the new design!
Or maybe it was a trick question to see if we are awake.
I guess the main issue is with the client as they can get stuck on a design or colours and no matter what you do they will not change.
My input on this...
I have a customer who wants exactly what yours does.
Except they have heavy plant machinery.
I have moved him onto wrapping the counterweight rears of diggers but he too would like it bigger all the time.
And to be real honest some of these machines are very awkward and very difficult to wrap...
If it is unplugged and out of ink show them the cost of the parts that HAVE to be replaced...
Print Head.
Head Cable
Dampers
Maintenance Station
And a full set of inks.
Then tell them the longer it sits the more damage it does.
It's definitley worth more than a $100 as that is greedy and...
Walk away from this job, make an excuse, just anything as this is going to be the worst job you have ever taken on.
Removal of the existing graphics will be hard enough, which is made even worse by the usual thin original paintwork and the textures of the panelwork on this type of vehicle.
