  1. Briteline vinyl?

Short term signs, coro yard signs, banners, etc. the Briteline stuff works great. It's glossier than Oracal, cuts and weeds beautifully, and applies like any other vinyl. Long term.....the stuff shrinks in the sun. A lot. Don't even think about using it for long term stuff. If the vinyl...
  2. This logo working?

Thanks, I'll look at reworking it but we're still not using a bold font for the name. While I'm at it these were the shot down versions. The gray one in the center is what they originally asked for so that's why it's on there. The "leaf" image is rough, these are basically sketches. If...

  8. Vinyl for flat surfaces, just how flat?

It will conform just fine horizontally or vertically. It won't conform both.
  9. what is best way to attach coroplast to a brick wall?

Please don't use silicone, or liquid nails, or caulk, or VHB tape, or foam tape. The coro signs are gonna last a year, two if you're lucky, on the wall....when they come down the mounting goop is gonna last and look horrible for another 20 years. A couple of small masonry anchors and you're...
  10. Excessive charge by a dealer for service.

If I drive 100 miles to install a job and charge them $200 they'll pay it. If I drive 100 miles to install a job and have another job right down the road I do a the same time and charge them $100 each they'll pay it. If I drive 100 miles to install a one job the next time and have to charge the...
  11. cheap tablesaw

All that bracket building and hinging wasn't needed. First one I ever used the guy had just screwed through the deck of an old saw and into a piece of plywood. Flipped it over, stuck it between two sawhorses, BAM....instant table saw. All the adjustments on the saw still worked.
  12. Shout out to signs365.com --thank you!!!

FedEx is tremendously better here. UPS boxes come in looking like they ran over them with the truck and they're always filthy. FedEx stuff is clean and looks like it just got packed. FedEx also makes getting stuff held at the terminal as easy as clicking one button and it's always done. With...
  13. How Would You Make These Signs?

Man, I never understood why that stuff wasn't more readily available at sign suppliers. The stuff they sell that has a corrugated core is almost indestructible. We had a 2' x 3' sample of it that I gave to my nephew to throw baseballs at. The panel has been hit with baseballs a few thousand...
  14. Soooo......

They're really nice people and they do a lot of work with me. Sometimes things they send me are just BAD.
  15. Soooo......

I'm really trying to not go off on tangents about other peoples artwork these days. A look back on some of the stuff I was damn proud of five years ago made me cringe so I'm trying to cut the world a little slack. Then I get brought finished artwork like this. I don't even know how to...
  16. messed on by the local sign hack... that isn't even in business anymore

If you're referring to me I was responding to Jills comment. If you're responding to Addie, well we all know how you feel about Adtechia. By no means was I suggesting that $250 was a good or fair price. I was simply pointing out that for somebody working from home, especially someone doing it...

  18. 4 x 8 angle mount help

I'm willing to bet you that's something from Simpson Strong Tie that somebody figured out how to use for that sign. Strong Tie makes all those metal joist hangers you see in hardware stores and they've got a couple of thousand more in their catalog. Look for Hip Corner Plates or Hip Ridge...
  19. My Logo

It's your logo, your visual presentation to the world. It needs to instantly let people know who you are and the quality you are capable of producing. You do not simply throw something together one night. Sorry to say it but the one you posted is not very professional looking.
  20. Health Care Exchange

I know a couple who retired to Nicaragua and I don't think they could be happier. They used to come back and laugh at the retired people here who didn't know how to relax. They've got an awesome house, on the beach, and are loving life.
