Gotta be someone closer to you I would think, but these guys know their stuff: Lightall 214-358-5331
  2. A few recent installs...

Nothin' fancy although it was cool being able to do the Dealey plaza ones (where JFK was shot). Installed five sets of letters there so far and have three more to go. The Winchester letters were actually a relocate. I was supposed to make a pattern but the maintenance guy took them down the...
  3. Channel lettering or LED?

If they want to match it, I would definitely go put eyes on it.
  4. obtaining a permit

Your best bet is to call the Planning & Zoning department and ask them. Unless there are other members from York here that are familiar with the process, you're not going to get much help. Every city is different - ask the folks that you'll be submitting the permit to.
  5. Past 2 installs in 24 hrs

ohhh...for a 'single visual message'. Interesting. But yes, still absurd. But smart of them I guess - cornered the market on that little method. I've seen more than one building with advertisements on the steps but they were all individual 'messages'....not a single message as indicated in the...
  6. Past 2 installs in 24 hrs

Looks cool...that would be a fun install. Nice job! As far as the patent, that seems pretty absurd. Not saying it isn't true, but I don't know how you can patent installing vinyl on steps. Somewhere, sometime, someone was the first to install vinyl on windows. Somewhere, sometime, someone was...
  7. I need to make 30 of these! What are they?

It's 'etched' (chemically, blasted, etc. depending on manufacturer) and paint-filled. That's not screen printed.
  8. Vacuum Formed Sign Face

I would recommend Faces. They're one of, if not the best/oldest in the business and can form up to 8' x 20' in one piece.
  9. I need to make 30 of these! What are they?

Etched with infill. Gemini or Steel Art. Steel Art is a bit more but top notch.
  10. Measuring items in a photo...

Thank you for the additional responses. I swear Corel had a tool where you could draw a line, specify what dimension it was, and if you changed the length of that line, it would increase or decrease the dimension accordingly. Anyway, I'll try the methods given - thank you!
  11. Measuring items in a photo...

Thank you for all of the responses!
  12. Measuring items in a photo...

Not sure where else to post this. Can anyone recommend software (and the procedure) to obtain dimensions of an object if you know the dimensions of another object in the photo? ie: I have a photo of a set of channel letters. I need to determine the approximate dimensions of the letters (HxW)...
  13. Opinions and Advice,Window Decal

    "Chieftain".....not "Chieftian".
  14. Name plates for cubicle walls...

No, that would be easier, but they don't want to be able to see the attachment method.
  15. Name plates for cubicle walls...

    Perfect - thanks guys!
  16. Name plates for cubicle walls...

That was my concern with the pins - they look kind of light weight. They're pretty adamant about not having a visible means of attachment though, so the pins may be the only option. Yeah, I found them for around $1 a piece, but if you can find out your source, that would be great. Thank you...
  17. Name plates for cubicle walls...

Some cubicle walls are solid core and adhering nameplates with VHB tape works pretty well. Some are a hollow core with perimeter framing which allows the fabric to be pushed in....which in turn doesn't work well with pressure sensitive VHB tape. Does anyone know of a supplier/product that would...
  18. buying VHB foam tape?

Reece is likely going to be your best bet. And they don't make you buy it by the case.
  19. buying VHB foam tape?

    Where are you located?
  20. 3d foam letter - Delaminating - how to fix?

I would use this or this. The Gorilla epoxy is great stuff. Dispense, mix, apply, tape the laminate back in place (use Gorilla tape to hold it in place) and remove after5 minutes. I've never used the Powergrab and it takes longer to cure, but it's an option. Not sure how what shape the foam is...
