  1. Pricing?

I do both edge printing and wide format. You will never compete on price with an edge printer doing more than 1 colour, however for doing 1 colour decals such as pipe markers and safety labels is where the edge is worth it's weight in gold.
  2. What would you price this at?

    Wow really? is that installed?
  3. Design - Do you provide working files?

    Not everything required cutting...
  4. Design - Do you provide working files?

I've never had any issues editing your files when needed, like someone else said, you can import Corel files into Photoshop no problem. Having said that, I would offer to design him a "master" template file for a fee that he can do whatever he wants with, just make sure you charge...
  5. 4 foot width adhesive vinyl. Is there larger widths?

I contacted a wholesale printer near us that has a few huge printers, they print building wraps etc. They don't have adhesive vinyl wider than 60", she was pretty sure it's not available, at least she's never seen it. A panel that size will need to be seamed, there is no getting around it...
  6. wall material for gerber edge?

631 does not print well on the edge, the matte finish leaves the print looking very spotty.
  7. Value of a vinyl installer? Wrapper?

you can't get someone to show up for $13/hr here. I agree you should be around the $18/hr + if you are as skilled as you say you are.
  8. When I rule the signmaking universe!

YES!! Or print the remaining length on the backing paper every yard, like on Gerber edge foils

  11. No More Gemini For Us

OK after seeing the photos I take back my previous comments, they should be replacing those no questions asked. Do you have a sales rep or are you just speaking to whoever answers the phone? We have a single contact person at Gemini who knows us and our orders inside out and has bent over...
  12. No More Gemini For Us

My understanding of the patina finishes is that it is a "Organic" type of finish, by that I mean it will continue to patina over the years, what the letters look like now, will not be what the letters look like in 6 months, or 6 years from now. So even though your tape removed the patina in...
  13. Buying new Printer..WHICH ONE?!!

Your math is a bit off, let me correct it for you. Lets take design time out of the equation and assume you are printing client supplied artwork that is perfectly set up. I will also use $60/hr as a shop rate You currently invest around 10 minutes uploading the artwork, and filling out...
  14. Buying new Printer..WHICH ONE?!!

If I had a wholesale printer around here who charged $1.50 sq/ft, I wouldn't own a printer either!
  15. Help! Removing decals from wrap?

Matte vinyl is so finicky at best as is, I would be worried that whatever you use to remove the adhesive will affect the sheen of the vinyl, sometimes just rubbing the matte surface with a cloth can change the appearance. PASS
  16. Alternate Side Parking sign wording help

around here we alternate parking every 2 weeks, so the 1st - 15th you park on one side, 16th - 31 on the other, seems to work. is there a time restriction on alternating every day, or would you need to set an alarm for midnight and move your car? I can see it becoming a nightmare, especially...

  19. Rolls Roller Questions

I considered making my own, but in the end I figured that if I have enough work to need an application table, than I don't have enough time to make one. when I priced it out I was looking at around $5,000 in T-Slot, another $1500 for a roller, plus about $1000 for the hydraulics, plus around...
  20. Rolls Roller Questions

I agree, we have a rolls roller and I've never seen a line when using the machine for mounting, I've seen it when laminating, but it has always gone away in a few hours.
