I would do the outline first, all filled in rather than just the outline, and then center the orange on top. So there are no little lips, just a layer on top of a complete layer.
We usually just print when using 5600.
We've had our supplier talk to Siser about this. They said use high tack mask and use as little blade pressure as you need for the material to weed. We were using the high tack and were having a pain, lowering the pressure did help a bit. Though it's nothing like how it was when we first started...
Head strikes should be a very rare occurrence. If it's happening a lot on various medias, you may have a bigger issue here with your machine. I would be tempted to have a tech come check it out.
The communication issue, are you connecting the computer directly to the printer or running through...
We only get head strikes on our 360 with certain banners and occasional paper. I'm not sure if I've ever had one on vinyl in the years we've had the printer. You may want to take a look at your profile, possibly the vacuum. Or maybe try the edge holders to see if they help.
Grimco phone lines have been ridiculous since they changed their systems, I get random centres too, just gotta be patient while they sort themselves out. Best to email atm.
We used 180 on some weather stripping on a truck, primed and edge sealed. Been on for 3 years and still looks good.
Not sure what to do once it's already failing though.
The vinyl layer that comes off is clear premasking tape, come in a beige paper version as well.
For something that small, I wouldn't bother masking it. Nor would I hinge it or apply it wet. Just peel half the backing, start at one edge and work to the opposite edge, using the backing to keep...
There are paid plugins I've looked into before, but found this script and it works well enough, plus it's free.
Dimension Adobe Illustrator designs with a simple script
I think you're fine with the silicone, I would look at a more aggressive adhesive vinyl or possibly priming the acrylic before laying it down. What vinyl are you using?
This is not likely to be possible, but the best thing to do would be to get your hands on a newer computer and see just how much difference it actually makes when it comes to the adobe programs. I design on a Mac Mini with much worse specs than your iMac and I get by quite well. My only real...
It sounds like the problem isn't the bond between silicone and vinyl, but the bond between the vinyl and the acrylic. The silicone is well adhered to the vinyl so the stress of the weight of the acrylic is causing the vinyl to peel away.
Drop shadows in anything other than photoshop take forever to render on any computer in my experience. One of our designers has a brand new imac, top of the line, and still has issues with it, as well as saving large complex files in certain formats. Does it have an SSD and are you working...
We've used the one side painted MDO for several projects with IJ35. One was outdoor with several large pieces that go up in the winter, worked great. No issues and customer loved it. They put a sealer around the edges, not sure what but they say it helps.
Just if you're mounting with a...
Anyone happen to know where I could get post base covers for a 3x3 square post with a 7.5x7.5 base, min height of 5" without having to get them custom made?
If you're lucky, the tension clips will be sign comp and you can get a tool for those which makes it a lot easier. If not, they're the old style and a real pain in the ass. We couldn't find a tool for them and had to hammer them in, takes forever.
